Exactly. This is also the reason that some FLs are unable to do things, period.

We got GRITS to become a FL a few months ago without Maureen here. Maybe if enough people want it we can make it happen again?

I'm pretty sure Maureen was still around then - just. But as another person said you don't have to be a FL to give people advice / encouragement on IG. NBP was never a forum leader but helped me loads with my cycles. I find it much more frustrating that I can't get my gold membership back!

Maureen added grits. She's the only one who can.

Yeah but I guess only just too. It took a bit of work by a few (especially by an awesome member) but Grits did became a FL and it wasn't that long ago but definitely while Maureen was/is MIA.

I am still here when I can be. Unfortunately, I have a hard time logging in. It's taken me 20 minutes of battling monkeys to edit a post and get to this page. I kinda don't have that kind of time to spend on the Internet as I work full time and have an active social life.

Secondly, as someone mentioned, my 2nd BFN was incredibly difficult emotionally. I need a little bit of time and space from HT in order to heal and be in a good place to move to whatever is next. I respect and appreciate that others can move past a BFN quickly but, sadly, I am not that person. My sincere apologies for my absence but honestly it takes me a little bit more time to heal. That said, I try to take care of inappropriate posts as soon as I can and I hope to be back in the cycling game as soon as I have some answers about my infertility.

Nobody cares who goes to another site. There is no contract anywhere saying people must be exclusive to IG, nor is there any reason for anyone who is a member at any other site on the world wide web to be made to feel guilty for doing so.

Why di you delete the name of the other site?  It is not advertising simply info. sharing.  I love IG but also like the other site.  This is not communist China.  Surely I can mention a competitor.  How ridiculous.

FLs delete the mention of other sites when/if other members here complain about and report the posts as inappropriate.

It's not just the names of the new sites. There are sites that have been around on the net for a long time and it's against IG rules to mention those sites also.

I have to say I was very surprised that my mention of the other site was removed within 5 mins of me making my earlier post. It wasn't telling people to leave IG as I still love IG but if someone is wanting the help of someone knowledgable such as NBP or Michaela mid cycle I would like them to know where to get it. It's not like I can PM people that info as I can't renew my gold membership. Going HT for GS is very hard and information sharing to help people on this journey is what IG is all about, even if it does mean that person joins 2 GS forums.

Posts regarding competing sites are only edited if they are reported. And they are often reported within seconds of any mention of a competing site and reported until we remove the names.

Half the board wants us to remove the names, half the board wants us to leave the names. And FL are criticized publicly and privately no matter what decision is made. Yet a third reason it is difficult to moderate.

I don't come on this site anymore because it's annoying that it doesn't work. It's also annoying that people expect FLs to moderate at lightning speed, knowing that the site often doesn't work. If someone can get in touch with Maureen and get her to add new FLs, awesome. Good luck with that...

I also find it odd that people constantly complain that posting about other sites is "against IG rules" and yet those same people don't seem to be upset that accepting money for something (gold) and refusing access to that something (and not refunding anyone's money) is against the LAW. Maybe Maureen has something going on in her life that prevents her from fixing gold. Maybe the FLs have things going on in their lives that prevent them from sitting on the computer for hours until the site finally starts working well enough to moderate or post for a few minutes.

Nobody expects a FL to site at the computer for hours. Again as I said before, it would been nice to have them around thats all.

Some FLs have left and there is nothing wrong with that at all. I know some of the FLs and they are the most amazing wonderful women so I'm not saying this to be mean. ***The other day a troll came out on a forum that has a FL that's no longer around. This troll told the poster (who's baby was about to be born and die) that she can't wait for her b****k n****t to die. The troll also had a huge racist rant toward to poster. It was disgusting!! I'm sorry I reported it straight away asking for it it to please be taken down now now now. It was one of the worst posts I have seen on IG and I've been here awhile and seen a lot. FLs are not forced to be a FL. If they take on the roll as a FL then it would be nice if they were here.

I agree Gold needs to be fixed! When I see someone post that they bought Gold and ask why is it not working yet I reply that gold is broken and that they need to get their money back through paypal. Think they need to go to the resolution centre. I had no idea that everyone hasn't got their money back. That is not good!

One option IS to complain about the situation.  Another option is to do something about a bad situation.  That is what I did.  When your Gold Membership runs out, maybe you will feel different.

Gold is broken, there is no money in the paypal account to be able to refund anyone's money if they dispute the charges and as a site leader, that is so not cool.

I just took the initiative and did something about it.  I don't recruit from here but if people want advice and support, we are all happy to provide it again.

I would LOVE to be online, but to be honest, I barely have time to wipe my butt, let alone be online right now. The twins are taking up all my time right now--we have had some big issues with weight gain, and trying to get them to BF better. Which is still a struggle. Tack on lack of sleep, and 3 other kids, and I am pooched right now. Sorry guys. I try to check in once a day, and see if anything needs deleting, but that is about my limit of abilities at the moment.

As for adding FL's, we have repeatedly asked M for new FL's. This goes back 6 mos. Grits was added at the cusp of Maureen being here/not being here. We have been unable to contact Maureen for months. No FL has any ability to ban people, or add Golds, or refund money, as much as we would LOVE to do all these things. We have asked for those responsibilities, but nada. I did text Maureen last night 3 times to get the GD troll banned, and thankfully, it appears that troll was deactivated.

Anyway, I understand everyone's frustration. I wish there was an easy answer.

Now, back to BFing. Twins are really hard. Just FYI. A singleton would be a cakewalk right now.
