 Don't worry about that! Even if you have tons of friends who get baby girls - this data is not statistically valid. Even if you had 1000 friends expecting a girl - your chances would still be 51:49.

So don't worry - it'll turn out fine 

 

I'm trying. It just seems like every where I turn, someone I know or am related to is having a girl and I'm dying for just one. 51:49? Isn't that ratio in favor of boys since boys always outnumber girls? 

almost yes. a bit less than that. but not sure what the exact numbers were.

My sister has 3 close friends: one was due in February and had a girl. One is due in April and knows it's a girl. One just had her baby Sunday and it was a delivery room surprise: everyone thought BOY,but guess what?

It's a GIRL.

Keep your hopes up. And either way just know you'll be OK.

I can understand where your coming from@ HopingForAPrincessSoon, I'm due 8/3/11 with my 7th living child and I'm also hoping and praying for a girl, i have one girl and five boys and though ill be grateful for another healthy child, i just want another girl...I've convinced myself it was a girl,i only picked out a girl name,i pray you have a girl also,keep me updated about your Ultrasound,i would really like to know,my Ultrasound appt is on Tuesday.and I'm dreading to hear boy...

I understand oh so well! After having lost 5 children, I mostly just want a healthy living child. But 3 of those five that I lost were girls. I too had convinced myself that its a girl and have a girls name picked out, though I can't for the life of me think of a boy name and have no interest in looking at anything blue or boy related. I'm also dreading hearing its a boy in 48 hours.  Good luck to you on Tuesday  and hoping you hear . I will be sure to update ASAP on Friday.
