We saw the surgeon and cardiologist yesterday and they both agreed on Feb. 23rd for her heart surgery. I'm so glad it's going to be done soon but terrified at the same time. They said she will be in surgery about an hour and in hospital anywhere from 2 to 7 days, depending on how she does. Luckily it is a small incision and the surgeon is confident everything should go as planned. I hate that she has to go through this but she needs it. They are hopeful that her pulmonary pressures will go down and we can get her off the o2 and medication, it all depends on how she does after surgery. We were warned she still might need them both for a couple of months though, so we will just have to wait and see. So that is our latest update. Have a great day ladies!

SO WE ARE HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND AISLINN'S SURGERY WENT GREAT! SHE HAD IT ON WEDNESDAY MORNING AND WAS DISCHARGED ON FRIDAY MORNING. HER APPETITE HAS ALREADY INCREASED AND SHE NOW WEIGHS 11LBS 12OZ. WE SEE THE SURGEON AND CARDIOLOGIST ON MARCH 10TH FOR FOLLOW-UPS. I THINK THE PLAN IS TO TAKE HER OXYGEN DOWN A LITTLE THAT DAY AND THEN TAKE HER OFF THE NEXT MONTH, AT LEAST WE ARE HOPING THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS. WE WILL SEE WHAT HE SAYS AFTER LOOKING AT HER ECHO.

I did try to post once before (several days ago), but was not able to, so I hope this one goes through.  I pray all continues to go well and that she recovers quickly.  You are such a strong woman and you truly inspire me.  Take care of your sweet baby and yourself!

I am giving up my dream of having another little girl to love and adore.  I am trying to see the joy in the family that God has given me.  They are each a precious gift, and I do know how lucky I am to be their mom.  I pray this deep sadness and disappointment goes away.  It feels like it will never end.  [:'(]

Thank you. Aislinn is doing amazing!!!! Her appetite is growing by the day, she has already gotten up to 12lbs 2oz. We saw her cardiologist yesterday for a follow-up and he was very pleased by how she is doing. Her pulmonary hypertension is gone, she does not need oxygen when we are down at lower elevations but does still need it at home for now. Her sats off o2 at home are around 85, he said she needs to be at 92 or better before we can take the o2 away. We have to check her sats off o2 once a week between now and her next cardio appt on April 19th. Hopefully she will continue to get better up here and it will be gone soon. We have little stickers to put on her face to hold the cannula in place, well we now have to put new stickers on every day because she won't leave it alone! It's so frustrating to have to put it back in her nose 50 times a day. LOL She hates it as much as I do. So things are getting better, just a little longer for the o2. Oh and the right side of her heart is back down to normal size, the left is still a little large but getting better. That is our update for now, thanks again for reading.

momofmany...I want to thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I don't feel like a strong woman, I'm going crazy with all of this stuff going on, but I'm glad you think so.  :)  Although I can't imagine how I inspire you but I'll go with it. LOL Take care and I'll continue to update on Aislinns progress.

I am so glad she is doing well.  I look forward to getting her updates when I can get on here anymore.  What a peanut - just over 12 lbs.  My DD1 was a tiny thing too (not as much as Aislinn) - so sweet.  My DS5 is a big guy though at around 25 lbs.  I need to get him out of the carseat you carry - it is killing my back!  But some days I am so glad to have it like when he falls asleep when we are out.  You keep doing what you are doing - you are taking great care of your baby girl.  She is lucky to have such a loving and devoted mom.  I will keep you both in my prayers always.  Take care!
