Why are some people just so insensitive??

I have a friend who I told by email that I was having a boy and she answered "Eeeeew, yuck, a boy! They're so hard to buy presents for!" Talk about putting salt in my GD wound. She has no children herself btw. I told another mutual friend who has no children what this friend had said. This mutual friend has been trying for many years to get pregnant, so I thought she'd understand that it was a hurtful thing to say. But she just said "Ha ha, that's really funny!" I thought, how would she feel if I said that to her if she, after 6 years of trying, told me she was having a son (which she would be very very happy to have), and I would just say "Eeeew, yuck, a boy!". I'm sure she would be crushed if did that! I guess people don't always understand....

Why do some people feel the need to be nasty?  I think you can buy some lovely things for boys! 

 I'm sorry, that is just plain mean, why would you say that. That's horrible. If it helps I say Congrats! I personally love shopping for boy things, I think there is nothing cuter than a little boy in little cargo pants, little boots, and a sweatshirt looking all cool. I am going to a baby shower in a few weeks for a little boy and am so excited, I don't normally get to shop for boy clothes as I have a little girl. Much as I love shopping for her I like to shop for blue too :)

I agree, it sounds like something a little girl would say - like, about a little boy having cooties or being gross!  Seriously, what is with people sometimes?

Im sorry but that is NOT a friend. Steer clear! You need a group of new friends. These are the type of people who would hurt you even more if someday then end up with girls, run now!!

She's just jealous!! Tell her, yuk no way, I'm SO excited about having a boy, there are SO many cute outfits and fun things to do with them!!  I'm biased BTW haha! What a silly immature thing to say...her loss!

Yep.  And since she obviously has such a strong preference for girls, my guess is that when she does have kids, she will be blessed with a beautiful baby BOY or (GASP!) worse, BOYS!  haha

I think its easy to buy boy stuff...boys toys/gear ect are so easy to pick from as there is TONS of them. I still find myself drawn to the soft blues and browns that still makes up my world..... Plus how hard is it to buy diapers for you? Thats not hard and you will need them!

How awful, i'de be ditching this "friend" very soon!!!. Silly woman. The lady who said a 4 year old girl would say that is exactly right.  It's my dream so you remember that!!! and a good few other ladies on here too. And the other woman to laugh, i'm sure you have been sensitive to her not being able to get pregnant yet she has done this, BIG thumbs down to them both .
