Sad Crying [:'(]I just found out that hubby and I can't afford to go ahead with ivf/pgd for that dd we have wanted.  Being a mother of 4 boys I feel my hopes and dreams of dd are fading.  Hubby has agreed to go for a reversal vasectomy and we have a consult booked, I can't help but feel that if we conceive again it will be another boy.  Yes I would love him, but a part of me will be devistated.  I need all the help I can get to conceive a little girl naturally.  I have tried douche, and timing but always givin a boy, can someone please help me fulfill my dream since natural it the only affordable way for me.

Hello,

I can totally relate to your feelings! Myself, I have two lovely sons and for the time being I do not want to have more babies in case it would be another son. Also for us the IVF/MS route is somewhat closed for us, as I think the cost is immense - and also there are no guarantees for a  pregnancy to occur. Now to your questions - I do think you can sway the odds, but of course there are no guarantees there either...If you decide to try again, prepare yourself that it could be another son on the way.

However this is what I would do if I ever change my mind and want to sway for a baby girl:

1.   Have a blood test taken (on whole blood not serum) and check your calcium/potassium/sodium status. In case your adrenal glands are overworked you do not absorb any girlsupplements so you need to cover your basic need first (with other supplements and a personal recommendation) and then start with girl supplements; for instance calcium, cranberry etc. Also a perfect digestion is needed to absorb any supps - take living enzymes with the supps!

Personally I believe that your body can be acidic (due to the modern junk ffod diet) but the vaginal area could be too alkaline due to disturbance of the natural flora. 2.   Therefore check the PH-status which should be aound 4,5 when you do not ovulate (as it changes at that time and around). I do not believe the girl-diet - instead eat a normal, healthy diet, sugar and caffeine almost eliminated as those stimulants are not healthy anyway...

3.   Finally, I recommend frequent BD (to lower the sperm count) and have a cut-off  consisting of three to two days prior to ovulation - I know you have already tried timimg but did you try it together with changing of the vaginal PH-status as well as with the taking of girl supplements?

I wish you good luck with your girl-attempt, but most of all I wish that you would be happy and contempt with your four sons, they are such a blessing to you and you are still that same special person and mum in this world, even without a DD!

Best regards,

SwedishMumof2

Hi Michelle,

I know how you feel.  I have three boys and am 11 weeks pg w/ 4th.  It took me a while to get to the point where I could accept having another one and facing that it might be another boy.   My dh and I planned to do some sort of tech help, but sperm spinning was too risky, and microsort was too expensive for us as well.  Forget PGD!    I have hope that this pg might be a girl, because I do feel that what I did changed my body when I was ttc.  At any rate, after I have this baby I know I did everything that I could, and hopefully I will have no regrets.

I'll give you the info on what I did, and the info is all pretty much from this site.  Everyone here was/ is so helpful!  .... The first month I did the girl diet, girl supps, lydia pinkham 3x a day, lemon&water douche before bd, O+12 method using fertilityfriend.com, dump and jump, shallow bd.. i thing that's it?  I am usually so fertile, that I was shocked when I was not pg.  I was so bone dry that I think I pretty much gave it no chance.  So I altered it and by month 3 I got pg using only lydia pinkham, sups and diet.  I was still really dry, but bd constantly, to my dh's delight, and it worked!  Good luck and let me know if you need any help!!

Are you going to find out the sex of your baby ? I've been following your story. You're are my hope - if you're having a girl I'll try for a fourth but if you're having a boy then I'll just be happy being the mother of 3 boys ! No Pressure ! LOL

Hi all,

I almost agree withTina - Claire, you did it all, and if you did not sway with all that effort it would be impossible for anyone else that's for sure. I am also waiting for the results - I know you will be happy also with another son but it really has to be a girl in there...

All the best

Hi Claire,

Congratulations!. I agree with all the other ladies. You did it all. I wish you all the luck. Sending pink dust your way. I think we will all be waiting to hear your ultrasound results and maybe i wont be such a chicken to go for baby #3. Is it a big difference going from 2 boys to 3. I cant remember how many weeks do you have to be to find out the sex. My boys are 4 and 2 and my youngest will be 3 in july. Thinking of trying then. Lots of luck Good Luck Clover [GLC]
