I have come to the conclusion, *i think* our prefrences in eating really do make a diffrence in the sex..I mean I LOVE Dairy... Love Love Love, - Love milk, cheese..etc... I can probably drink a gallon of milk *by my self* atleast every 4 days.. Love chocolate milk, every kind of cheese, I cant eat it just by itself...

*however my g/f's - the ones who HATE HATE HATE anything dairy All have boys - no girls.. And all of us that love the stuff seem to have only girls.. I mean I am sure its something with the PH or whatever but I find it so weird..

I SOOOO want to have a son, but the thought of giving up dairy etc.. is so hard. I tried to go a whole week without it, but didnt make it..

And I was wondering did any of you have any *early* cravings.. when I was pg with last, about 7-8 weeks along, I probably drank 3 gallons a week of OJ... Man I craved that stuff... Even when hub and I go out to eat, I was like you guys have OJ.. the waiter always looked at me like I was off my rocker.. And everywhere I found said OJ craving was *girl*... of course, I was like yeah ok whatever, but sure enough it WAS A Girl.. but u know after that around 12 -14 weeks, I never touched the stuff and haven't drank it since...

Any of you have anything weird like that, and what about meat/potatoes vs other stuff... Opinions?

I completely aggree about diet.  I think researchers will know even more in 20 years (but I won't be having babies then so I will have to just suck down the yogurt for now!)  Anyways I usually avoid too much dairy because I have lactose issues but fortunately my body has started to adjust to the overload....also I am a major salt hound...not even realizing it I started to think about what I normally eat...for lunch it is a lot of soups and weight watcher lunches and then lots of tomato sauce at dinner (italian on mom's side) anyways the only other thing I wanted to tell you is that with DS #3 I craved OJ SOOO much...had to have it all of the time...that and butterscotch kirmpets...so sometimes I think cravings are just subject tot he hormones of pregnancy I won't be falling for that again because of course I thought he was a she...but so glad he is who he is!! Heart  Best wishes!!!

I believe diet plays a big part as well. I eat a lot of meat, salt, caffeine, etc. and never drink milk or anything else with a lot of calcium. I have all boys.

There was a new study that came out recently that adressed this. Out of 32 women, 26 had girls. Those are pretty significant results, imo.

I might be the exception. I dont drink milk or like dairy products at all. I eat mainly salty foods, meat potatoes etc... and it looks like i am expecting girl #2.

I will say that when i was pregnant with DD 1 was the first time i drank a glass of milk (since i was a child).

I dont even like ice cream- lol.....

I had never heard about swaying til after i found outi was pregnant this time. I am going to do a bunch of research into all this for my next time around- which will be my last.

I think i am still in shock that it is another girl- since all my life i dreamed of being a mom to just boys. Dont get me wrong i love my daughter to deatha nd wouldnt trade her for the world- and i know i will love this one the same- but my heart aches for a lil boy sooo bad.

Hoping everyone gets there DG!!

Funny because I LOVE dairy foods (accept I do not tolerate milk well)...eat lots of dairy...and I have all boys.  I also have a friends who eats almost no dairy...and has all girls!  I had different cravings and aversions with all 3 pregnancies as well, so I don't feel like that is a sign for me at all!  Maybe I am just the odd one!  Confused

I don't know...there is always an exception to the rule it seems.
I think I'm giving up on the whole swaying thing... :(

I have five boys and I love dairy too. Now I don't think I eat as much dairy as you do, but I usually have milk with my breakfast every day, I love cheese and have cheese a few times a day probably.

My cravings were ALL differnet with my boys...from craving my favorite salsa from my favorite restaurant, to craving Dairy Queen Blizzards...lol It varied quite a bit. :)

I hate dairy...but dairy sways girl....so when I swayed I was the dairy queen.. I have always been a meat and tatoes girl so naturally I had to avoid both...I lived off chicken and dairy....I actually had tons of adversions with my daughter...adversions to places due to smells,my fav cafe latte that I had to give up before hand...chicken...I have to say the only diff's then my Son's pregnancies was my belly size and shape(smaller, flatter and lower) sickness to prenatals...more nausea...more emotional(mean)...

I love cheese (not a huge milk fan) but I do think diet is important.  When I swayed for my daughter, I did drink more milk and ate more cheese and tried to stay about from the boy foods.  However, I didn't really follow the girl diet strictly.  I will say that I drank TONS and TONS of crystal light - I think that was an important factor in keeping my pH down.

What would you consider "TONS and TONS" of Crystal Light?

I too am very loosely following the girl diet. I wish I could be more strict, but instead of always beating myself up over it, I've accepted reality that I just can't. LOL  Not with our food budget and not with this large family!

BUT I am drinking lots of Crystal Light, cranberry juice, skipping breakfast, taking some supplements (although some of my supplements are not on the girl diet but I have to take them to help with TTC), drinking peppermint tea.... I am trying to increase my dairy but I am NOT a milk person unless its got chocolate mixed in LOL (or is in a cereal bowl!).

So I'm just wondering if I'm drinking "enough" Crystal Light and how much other ladies drink.

Thanks!

I don't know...I eat A LOT of dairy foods and I had boys.  And when I was pg with DS1, I craved dreamsicles (orange AND dairy!) and ice cream, and they say sweet cravings mean girl.  I had all the typical girl symptoms with him.  With DS2, I craved salty things which they say is boy and with him, I had all the typical boy symptoms.  The point I'm trying to make is that if diet and symptoms mean ANYTHING, I would have had one child of each gender but I didn't.  The more I hear and read on the subject, the more I really do think it's as random as a coin flip.  Some people are simply going to flip heads 2, 3, 4 or even more times in a row, but most will end up with a combo.  There may be more factors that determine it, but how come no one has been able to figure it out for certain?  How come swaying (and changing your diet while doing so) only seems to work about 50% of the time?  High tech aside, I really don't think it is within our control.

Hmm...I'm a vegetarian (no meat, poultry, or fish), but do eat dairy.  I avoid milk b/c it gives me a tummyache, but I eat lots of cheese and yogurt, and sometimes have ice cream.  I have two boys so far and suspect this baby is also a boy.  I eat fruits, veggies, whole grains...not sure what kind of diet that is, girl or boy.
