We saw the cardiologist yesterday and were told he has decided to get her surgery done because she is not gaining weight fast enough and we are running out of time. We do not know which procedure they are going to do yet but he wants it done by end of Feb. or beginning of Mar. Hopefully they can do that heart catherization since it is less of a risk but she might be too small still, if that's the case she will have a pretty major procedure and 3-5 day stay in the hospital. The PDA valve is causing too many issues now and needs to be taken care of. He also told us that it could take a minimum of 6 months after the surgery to get her off the oxygen, that was disappointing but atleast it's in the future. Aislinn also saw an eye doctor yesterday. she is already near sighted and will need glasses by the time she is around 3-5 yrs of age. So that is our latest update. Have a great day ladies!

It must be such a difficult time this one for your wee girl and your family. You seem in your doctor mode, but I do hope that you will keep trusting things will be OK in the end. My heart goes out to you ...Hearts

I am so sorry about all that you have been through.  Yet, you are so upbeat and positive.  You don't complain.  You inspire me greatly.  As I am stuck here in my GD about DS5, still wishing he was a girl.  I know there are hard things for lots of us and I should look at the up side to my situation; some days I just can't get there.  But I look at you and I am sure it is beyond difficult to see your precious little girl go through so much.  For me, I need to remember that things could be worse - none of us has to look too far to find someone who has difficulties that are greater than our own.  I will just continue to keep you and Aislinn in my prayers.  Stay strong, but know that you can just feel what you feel here too.  We will be here to listen and support you.  God bless you and your sweet baby.

I am giving up my dream of having another little girl to love and adore.  I am trying to see the joy in the family that God has given me.  They are each a precious gift, and I do know how lucky I am to be their mom.  I pray this deep sadness and disappointment goes away.  It feels like it will never end.  [:'(]

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers, they are greatly appreciated. I try to stay positive but some days it's not easy. I worry so much about everything she is facing and will have to face in the future, but she is a fighter and she will be great! We are actually in the hospital right now, since monday evening, because Aislinn has bronchulitis. Her pediatrician had her admitted to be on the safe side because of her medical issues and it was safer than keeping her at home. Her oxygen level just wasn't high enough and they have been giving her albuterol breathing treatments, doing deep suctioning, and IV fluids. So far we wil probably be here until Saturday as an estimate, unless she improves sooner or gets worse. Anyway, that is our recent excitement...as if we needed anymore. LOL Take care ladies and thanks again.

Thank you ladies. Aislinn is doing much better. She still has a cough and some wheezing but her pediatrician said those can hang on for up to 2-3 weeks. We still do breathing treatments here at home and they seem to be helping. Another check-up at peds office on monday to see how much improvement she has made.
