So glad to hear everything is alright!  Did they do an internal u/s on you?  If so could that have caused the bleed?  When I'm pg I always spot in early pg after anything internal...  My first u/s is Friday so I'll probably be in the same boat then...

Take it easy, relax as much as you can and leave the house work for dh!!

The bleeding was before the internal.  I'm trying hard to take it easy.

Kitten, praying for you and the babe! My doc also gave me a 50/50 shot of survival of my ds3. I left his practice for midwifery mostly cuz of his "know it all" attitude as i research alot and he always was defensive. Anyway, midwifery was an awesome change as I had the most amazing support and experience with them and ds3 obviously was fine! Hugs and healthy thoughts coming your way!

I had bleeding at 9 weeks and was put on partial bed rest.  I went for many ultrasounds and they found a large area of blood by my placenta that they monitored for many weeks. I took it as easy as I could with two kids and a deployed spouse and all turned out well.  I had the m/c talk from my doctor who told me it was 50/50 either way.  I am now 27 weeks and all seems to be great. We did find out that my placenta attached in front and semi low. I hear that may be a cause as well.  I said all that to give you hope that even when the doctors get gloom and doom, things can turn out very well. I wish you both well! please keep us posted. 

 I hope all is well for you and your baby.  Bleeding is soooo stressful.  Your Dr should not have been so pessimistic .

Thanks everyone.  I also did one of those calculate your hcg results and it came up with doubling every 3.38 days which sounds right on track as on average hcg doubles every 48 hours until week 6 or so and then slows to every 3-4 days after.  Considering my first draw was at 10dpo and my second was 8 weeks, 4 days - I think that's good.  I am focusing on being optimistic at this point and trying to take it easy.  Hopefully we'll know more on Tuesday.  It's also very reassuring to hear other people's experiences and know that theirs turned out well too.

Hooray!! That's awesome news!

Yay,that baby is well! Sounds like you've got a great, positive midwife there. That's wonderful! I love mine and though it takes long to get in with her unless their is an emergency she takes her time and spends more time with me than my previous doc and makes sure emotionally I'm well, too. Luv that!
