I had implantation cramping that conincided with a large dip in temps both last month and the month before. I had period symptoms the day before and the day my period was due when I got the BFP with my son's pregnancy. I don't remember any cramping when I conceived angel baby #2 but I wasn't charting or even trying that hard to get pg so I wasn't really "looking" for it.
I think if you have well timed intercourse, there is a good chance that sperm will indeed meet egg - in fact, I believe there was conception in my last two cycles. But, alas, BFN both times.
'Course, I'm 36 so I have old eggies. I think a younger women would have a better chance of conception and successful implantation.
But yes, I felt nothing up until 7DPO last cycle, two days of low cramping followed by a "hormonal" feeling that lasted but a day. I considered finding 10mIU/ml tests (I use the 20mIU/ml IC tests now) but I'm thinking that might lead to the detection of some chemical pregnancies and this is enough of a roller coaster, than you very much.
It's a GREAT sign! FX!!!
