Concerns about conceiving after failed ivfs

Hi Dr. Potter (and anyone else reading this).

As the title states, I have concerns about conceiving after failed ivf cycles. My history: I've had 2 failed ms/pgd/ivf cycles at givf. Each time 8 eggs were retrieved. The first time 7 were mature, second time 6 mature. Both times resulted in nothing worthy of transfer. Though there were a couple that were still growing so we transferred something each time. BFN each cycle (no surprise).

Despite having just turned 33 when my fsh was checked (7 months ago), it was 10.8. I was told that this was most likely the cause of the poor results. I believe they could have done more for me, but that's another story :-/.

Anyway, my dh and I are going to start ttc (naturally) this month. I'm wondering if there's much hope with my elevated fsh. I'm also wondering if there's anything I can do to give myself a better chance of success. It's a difficult subject to research, since it seems that fertile women for the most part do not know their fsh. I have no idea what my level was when ds2 was conceived 2 years ago.

Thanks for any thoughts/advice!

First of all, if you are TTC, FSH=10.8 is probably not a big deal.  This would be something that would have a negative impact on your ability to conceive with assisted reproduction more than spontaneous conception.  If you were to ever consider assisted reproduction again, I would have a clomid challenge test and AMH done to see if the 10.8 really tells the whole story or if the truth is that your ovarian reserve is even worse than the 10.8 indicates.

Thank you for your response. I did do the cct and my day 10 fsh was 8.5, not sure about AMH. I hope my OR isn't worse than I already think it is!! Ack!
