Hi, I wasn't sure if there was introduction section so I thought I'd just jump right in!!

I do have a question though.  At my 18 week ultrasound, the tech told me I was having a boy.  I am a bit disappointed because I already have a boy and was really hoping for a girl. How accurate are the results?  I have another ultrasound booked on May 1st because they couldn't get a good read on the heart so I will get to see it again.

Anyway, just wanted to know.

Thanks!!

Hi there!  I think it all depends on your technician, and how well they could see that area.  With my first baby  the tech told me it was either a boy or a girl w/ a p---s.  It was that obvious.  With my third, I could see it a mile a way.  A second opinion is never a bad thing though!!!  Good luck,

Claire

Hi, I'm new as well.  I just had my u/s yesterday, and I got a very vague response as well.  I already have a wonderful son and I wanted him to have a brother.  The technician couldn't get a good shot but she is "leaning towards" a girl - about 75%.  I am so shocked to find out how much this is affecting me.  I thought going in that I really didn't care, but now that I have it in my head that it is probably a girl I am heartbroken.  I grew up with a sister and I wanted my son to have that same sex bond that I have. I am not sure if I want to have another u/s as much as I would like to know in advance because the uncertainty is worse than not knowing at all.  Of course my friends are all so supportive and telling me then it's probably a girl to which I don't have the heart to tell them that I'd really prefer another boy.  And what if I can get around the idea of having a girl and the tech was wrong?  I feel your pain.
