Proud Mommy!!!

 Hi ladies,

So, I went to the OBGYN and informed her that I've been trying to conceive for almost a year now.  She gave me a pap and I told her that I have regular periods and I know exactly what day I ovulate.  When she gave me the pap, it hurt SO bad!!  Never have I felt that pain while getting a pap.  She said, 2 things, either I may have a polup, which WILL NOT interfere with conception or I may have Endometriosis, which WILL interfere with conception.  But, by the looks of it, she believes I may have endometriosis and the only way I will know for sure if I have it, is by doing surgery.  So, my question is...  Will IVF still work if I have endometriosis?!  The reason I ask, is because I would rather avoid the endometriosis surgery all together because DH insurance covers 80% of IVF and we would like to do the gender selection.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!  =)

Here's my two cents....  I was going into my third cycle of IVF/PGD and my new doctor insisted that I have endo surgery before I do another cycle of IVF.  I had no symptoms of endo.  I did the surgery and turns out I had tons on endo.  I now wonder if that is why the three girl embryos we implanted didn't take.  We'll never know.  I got pregnant naturally the month after my surgery and now I don't have to worry about IVF anymore.  So, personally I wouldn't take the risk of doing IVF without doing the endo surgery first.  Hope that helps!!

Well, I was out but it did hurt for 3-5 days afterward.  Like a bad period maybe....  I was surprised because I expected to be in bed 1-2 days and it was a little more than that.  I guess it probably depends on how much they "clean out" too.  I had lots of endo and polyps and a fibroid.  Let me know what you decide!
