Not sure how many of you exercise, but since I am Active Duty Army, I am still doing PT.

I haven't told anyone at work yet. Don't really want to. Since this is #5 for us, we're going to get a lot of lectures and comments and I'm just not ready fot hear it all right now. We got a lot when we were pregnant with #4, and I just don't want to hear it all again from the same people.

So my husband is paranoid that I will lose the baby if I continue to do PT. I did 3 miles of sprints this morning (sprint 1/4 mile, walk 3/4) and this past Monday (before I found out) I ran 4 miles. I took a PT test on Wednesday as well. So he's all worried that I'm "Killing" our baby or something. I will continue to have to do PT until we decide to tell everyone, so I guess what I am looking for is reassurance that I'm not "killing" our baby with continuing to do PT in the mornings for 45 minutes. I'm not doing it so hard as to make me puke, but I have to take another PT test next Friday (I failed the one on Wednesday) or the following Wednesday in order to reenlist this winter, so yeah. I need to pass and take this PT test as many times as it takes.

 Thanks.

I've done a lot of research on exercising in pregnancy.  I have exercised throughout all of my pregnancies, and so far so good.  There are numerous benefits to the baby and mother during and after pregnancy.  The best book I've read (and I've read it 4 times!) is "Exercising During Pregnancy" (I think that's the title) by Dr. James F.Clapp.  It's a research based book and has excellent information about exercising while pregnant, and it's current (which is hard to find on this subject).

Good luck with everything.  I hope you can get this book - it's really great. I've always gotten it from my local library, so I assume it should still be in print.

I would imagine you are fine unless you have a high risk pregnancy. We DS2 I lifted 3 days a week and did pretty intense cardio 2 days a week (though... the intensity of the cardio deffinately waned as the nausea and vomiting increased). The doctor said it was fine for me to continue doing anything I was doing pre-pregnancy until I got to the second trimester. Then he wanted me to cut out abdominal work and weighted squats. I worked out up until 33 weeks. I only stopped because I noticed when I was working out I was contracting. I had my baby 2 weeks later. Bummer, I haven't been able to get out in the morning to go to the gym for the last 2 years. SO, I guess this pregnancy will be a much flabbier one. :-) I think this early in the pregnancy there is very very little you can do to hurt the baby via exercise.

Thanks guys. I'll keep it up and let my husband know it's okay. I'm going to google some stuff as well later this afternoon when I have some time and forward it to him so he can read it for himself as well. :)

You are definitely fine. That baby is soooo protected, don't worry about it. I wouldn't do any boxing or anything but running is fine.
