Lucky you! I'm really hoping I don't go overdue. The earlier the better (of course with the baby being safely delievered not before 37 weeks). Especially with the date being so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas being right around the corner. I would love to deliever the 2nd week of November. But i doubt that will happen especially with this being my first baby. Usually the first always tends to be a bit stubborn

I don't think I feel anything coming along but then again, I really don't know exactly what to expect besides the common symptoms. Just some normal braxton hicks, thats about it. For the last week or so though, I have noticed this horrible hip pain on both sides when I wake up in the middle of the night. I don't notice it during the day, only when i'm laying down sleeping. It's the worst in both hips, and goes down both legs. Could this be my pelvis spreading?
Sounds like it could be pelvis or baby's head getting engaged. I try to sleep with a couple of pillows between my legs or a towel rolled up, keeps the knees apart and seems to help.
Im getting the same pain and my babys head is 2/5 engaged (or was last week).
When do doctors typically check for dilation? 36 or 37 weeks? Or does it just depend on the doctor. I haven't gotten a chance to ask mine

I just went for my 36 weeks appt. yesterday and my dr. said they'll start checking for dialation @ 37 weeks.

mimib111:Are you all in the US? I just spoke to midwife and she said they won't check for dilation due to infection risk! I'm pretty sure I must be having changes though because I'm getting those funny stabbing pains there.

Yes, I'm in the U.S. I think they main reason they do it is because most women are so darn anxious to have their babies that they would be indiginent not to know if they have made any progess! When my doc told me I was one week away from term and could basically "go any time" (even though he didn't check me....still not sure why he said that) I said, "I'm in no hurry, he can stay in as long as he wants to!" And the dr. said he never hears that!

I think it depends, i'm in UK and my midwife checked me yesterday @ 39 weeks
10/04 11/06 06/08 11/09 01/10 our 1st arrived on 29/10/10 @ 17.25 weighing 7lbs

I think I might be the first Nov. birth, but sort of by default My due date (at least going by last menstrual) was Oct. 29th so the dr. and I have been going by that. Although when I calculated it based on the day I think I conceived, I got a due date of Halloween- today which I don't want, and doesn't look like will happen unless she comes in the next 6hrs. all of a sudden But based on first u/s I was given a due date of Nov. 1st but have going by the Oct. 29th one since the dr. was going by that one.
Well tomorrow is my last and final dr. appt. (thought it was the last one last week, but nope 1 more!) and Tuesday I get induced. so this baby will be born between now and Tuesday night, unless I have a realllllyyyyy long labor and go into the wee hours of Nov. 3rd, but I don't think that will happen since I'm already 4cm but u never know... I'm going in at 6:30am Tues. Hoping tomorrow when I get checked, I've dilated even further past a 4 though and she sends my butt straight over to the hospital, wouldn't that be nice!
