What are you focussed on next?

I know a lot of us have been finding out gender recently, which for those of us who wanted to find out is a big milestone in the pregnancy.  ATM, I am very focussed on getting to 'viable' (only a week or 2 to go!), but after that I do feel there is a bit of a big desert with no particular markers right through until I'm due to finish work in Dec.  I have a lot of personal stuff to work through (my birthday, DS2's birthday, Christmas) and I know I need to sort things out for the baby but I'm not sure when to do this (not before viable I don't think)

So what are you focussed on next?  And when are you going to do it?

I'm feeling in that 'bneen pregnant ages but have ages to go' stage...realised that today is 4 months to the day since I found out I was pregnant, and probably pretty much exactly 4 months still to go! Surprise

Lol, I got to that point last weds where I'd know about the baby for 18 weeks and I had exactly 18 weeks to go - it was a big milestone for me.  Looking forward to viability next weds, plus on the tues I have my 24 week midwife appt and I can't wait to hear the heartbeat again.  Then it's a week to go until I can apply for my HIP grant, yay - have already decided that the money is going on a new moses bastket and stand as I'd given my old ones away, plus a few other bits for bubs.  I look forward to getting to the 28 week mark because then their odds of survival if born early shoot right up.  I get extra scans at 33 weeks and 37 weeks which are exciting, but you can't really see too much as bubs will be too big by then - I keep trying to find positive baby things that I'm really going to enjoy as it takes my mind off the fact that my back is getting progressively worse!

Have started my Christmas shopping and started making loads of halloween decorations with the kids, so haven't had chance to focus on this baby much recently.

I stupidly planned two of my three babies for January Idea so i've got the usual  - Christmas, halloween etc and then DS2s birthday is at the begining of January, closely followed by this princess' arrival!! It wasn't intentional, I just couldn't wait, Heart and as I am fortunate enought to fall every time Happy Smile within the the first month of trying, I should have known the odds for this were pretty high, so it serves me right really. Makes it all the more magical somehow!!

My next big mile stone will be the 3D/4D scan at 27 weeks!!!  My favorite part of the pregnancy...well besides the c-section date Happy Wink

I loved seeing my DD on 3D and she looked just like she came out.  Very cool experience for my DH and I since he never gets to go to any of my scans via the doctor or ever hear the heartbeat and stuff there.  After that mile stone is my big decide the c-section date appt!  About 4 weeks before the baby's due date usually.  Then baby's birthday Love Ya!

That's a good point abut the decide the c-section date appointment, not sure when my consultant will do that?  I see him next on 10 Nov when I'm 28 weeks and then they start the steroids at 30 weeks so I will be seeing him fortnightly and I'm not sure when the date will be selected.  Do you have a date you are aiming for?

I'm in the UK with small kids which makes Halloween a non-event here!

I will be 40 weeks by the doctor's and my LMP due date on February 6th but by how baby measured at my two u/s his due date should be February 10th or 11th.  So we are aiming for February 3rd or 4th for the c-section date and his birthday Happy Smile  My doctor only does c-sections on Thursdays and Fridays so it will probably be one of those but I don't know if I would feel comfortable going any earlier since my DD was pulled at 38 weeks and struggled to put on weight and stuff.  Don't know if it was related but I think I will feel better hitting the 39 week mark no matter the 6th due date or the 10th-11th one!

Interesting as my DS2 had breathing problems and was pulled at 38w and I also blame him being born too early and don't want baby any earlier than 39w by my dates which would be 6 Feb, but they think it is 1 Feb and actually want to take her out at 38w so we will be arguing, I mean debating, very similar dates I think!

My DD also had some issues breathing!  They said it wasn't related to the c-section but my DS who I had by emergency c-section at 42 weeks never had any trouble breathing or putting on weight so I can't help but wonder if even that extra week will do the trick for this little guy!  I will also be debating with my doctor about when to have baby :)  He wants Jan 27th or 28th...I say the following week!  We shall see who wins Happy Wink

How weird, my doc also wants end Jan (24th was the date he started with) I'd actually like when she's due so 13/14 Feb so there is a big gap!!  My DS1 was also born by c-section but on due date and again no breathing or weight issues.  I actually think I was 37+ a bit when DS2 came, and the stats for admittance to SCBU/ NICU are scarily higher for 37w versus 38w when born by c-section...

im the same as you dinki, anxiously waiting for viability but for me 28 weeks is the magic number that i shoot for. not that i have had problems before... but you know, it just feels good knowing that if they did have to take the baby early that everything would be alright. so like you i am right smack in themiddle feeling like i have been pg for a while and still have AGES to go LOL!

Got to my first milestone, I'm 24 weeks today, woohoo (will still feel a lot more secure once I get to 28 weeks though).  My midwife was kind enough to give me my HIP grant form though to send off next weds - have already started a list of things I still need for bubs, yay more shopping Happy LOL x

I guess my first real milestone is getting to 28 weeks for viability sake.  Then my next one is 30 weeks because after that the countdown begins, as in, all remaining weeks are single digits, which just sounds so much better than double digit numbers!

Ooh, that sounds cool doesn't it!!  30 weeks is still over 6 weeks off for me though which sounds aaaaaaaages!!

I did notice today that its only just over 2 weeks until there will be less than 100 days to go, which sounds kinda cool Agree

Woo hoo for 28 weeks daisyboo!

I'm just hitting some of my milestones too - I had my glucose tolerance test yesterday, saw my consultant today and have the midwife next Tues.  that wouldn't be that exciting except I have had no appointments at all for 12 weeks!!  Oh, and I will get my Mat 1B FINALLY for work, plus the £190 HIP grant signed off which is definitely NOT to be sneezed at!!

I next see my consultant in 8 weeks' time - and at that appointment he wants to book my c-section for 3 weeks after that - now that sounds scarily soon!! (I don't want it that soon - but we will have that fight later!!!)

Still looking forward to being 28 weeks, and then 30 weeks cos I did like the point about single figures!! Agree
