HELP! Boy or girl @ 18wks?? My sister's u/s tech said 50/50...but today leaned boy? So confused!

A sagittal view is the long view - for example, the profile view on a baby
A coronal view is like a sagittal view, but turn a little bit 90 degrees. When the baby looks at you and you can see the face, and the ribs on either side of the body, that is coronal. This is the view taken for those "girl" pictures.
Then there is oblique - just means it's somewhere between transverse and sagittal. Crooked :)

So are the "girl" shots unreliable then?  What about the boy shot of baby?  Ekkkk I am just dying to know if I have a niece or a nephew!  I wish her tech could have said for sure

Thanks so much for your guess!  I really am thinking boy especially after looking at my own DD's u/s shots!

Ok one last question to any one who knows...why in the 2nd boy picture does the "penis" look really weird almost like a block?? Could this be a swollen labia by chance?  She called her tech today and the tech said she leaned boy but couldn't say for sure one way or the other and only that the boy pictures are not showing any umbilical cord...

the difference you are seeing between the two boy shots is just the angle. That's not swollen labia ;)

You were right Nicholerh!!  100% boy on her 3D scan and 2D scan today   I am so excited to be having little boys only 3 weeks apart from each other!
