Who would say that to someone? How rude! Maybe she has secret GD and wants boys. Even if she doesn't, she can't expect that just because her daughter is a girl that she will stick around and be a mommy's girl forever, or that she will even like craft shows! Ugh. Sorry that you had to feel bad today.Sad

"Really? We are trying for a second and DESPERATELY want another girl. Boys are so much more boisterous and hard work"

This makes me laugh because this is exactly what I use to say when I was having another girl and desperatly wanted a boy.  Dont always belive what other people say it might be there own way of cover there own disapointment.

I'm sorry for that ignorant woman's comments.

Truthfully, aside from possibly DD3, none of my children would go within a ten foot radius of a craft show. My DD2 would rather watch paint dry.

Either way, she's classifying an entire gender based on one activity her daughter enjoys. As for her comment about never losing a girl, that's just comical. If she's going to make statements like that, it should be known that my mother lost me (any chance of connection to me) a LONG time ago. Being close to someone, including a parent, has everything to do with a person's own, individual personality, not gender.

Again, I'm sorry that her comments got to you but pay her no mind. She's clearly an idiot.

One of my "friends" has two little girls and is always making insensitive comments like that. About how she is sooo happy to have girls etc etc. It is rude and very annoying, and now that Im having a girl she is on this kick about how she is so glad Im having a girl and how she wants ANOTHER girl. It never ends!!

And I agree with everyone else, girls arent always girly!

aww bless you girls. don't worry, some of those girl Moms probably secretly want boys, even if they don't say it out loud. I have 3 girls and would love a son. Sometimes I have to answer questions and 'defend' girls before things even start as everyone seems to have a bl**dy opinion!! At the moment i'm pretending that i LOOOVE having daughters and really hope if we have another (am only 6 weeks so not telling anyone yet) that it will be a girl. ahahahahaha I swayed my butt off, and clearly want a boy!!!! We are all human, and for some annoying reason, we want we don't have...so cheer up. There are Moms with same gender families everywhere longing for that DG! silly really!! girls are fun but i'd love to have a son to look after me the way my brothers do for my Mom. well, here's hoping. GL xx

My mum has two children, my brother and myself. I live abroad and I see her once/twice a year. My brother lives literally like 10 yards away. I rest my case.

Praying for a Daughter:

Conversation at a local craft show/festival:

Girl Mom:  Where are your boys today?

Me:  Oh, they've lost interest in doing things like this with me.

Girl Mom:  That's why I'm so glad I have a girl.  I keep telling my husband that it is so great that we have a girl, because you never lose a girl.

Will there ever come a time when I will not come home and cry and be hurt by statements like that?

I've had idiots say stuff like this to me too....almost word for word

I used to keep quiet and stew in silence. Now I just keep my handy list of comebacks at the forefront of my mind, ready to whip them out at a moments notice.

You know, your boys may not be at the craft show but who cares? Honestly, I wouldn't want my boys dragging their feet and complaining the whole bloody time anyways - rather leave them at home and let DH look after them and I get some nice peace & quiet Happy LOL

And tell that smug woman that you're so grateful you won't have to deal with maxi pads and training bras.
