so grateful for my 4 sunz

i went grocery shopping the yesterday with my 4 boys and i have to admit things were a little chaotic with them playing catch with a football behind my back but other than that it was okay until a lady with 4 girls saw them knock over a display of pudding boxes and she laughed and said im so gald i have all girls and i bet you hope that one is a girl. i stood there in shock as my boys picked up the display and put the football on a shelf. So we leave the store and out of no where it went from drizzling rain to heavy rain so we all got to the van as fast as we could as low and behold the woman with four girls was parked beside me. well I made it into the van managing to only get a little wet i strapped my 20 month old in his car seat he was holding his bag of goodies and my other three sunz loaded up the van with rest of the bags and i look beside me and this woman is loading up her trunk herself while her four girls sit inside the car out of the rain LOL i rolled down my window and said i dont have to hold any doors or lift any bags BOY im so grateful for my 4 sunz and i drove off LOL i no without a doubt that girls can be as much help as boys they also can cause just as much chaos but that was not the case for that woman

great story!!! i have two boys and a girl on the way and always get the boy comments. but bottom line boys are great and i wouldnt trade mine for the world (im sure u feel the same)!!! You must have some great young men there!!! Boys will always have their mommy's backs! really enjoyed your story and i can totally appreciate the football in the grocery store! too cute :)

Thank you for sharing that story! She certainly got what she deserved. What an awful thing to say in front of your boys. My stepsons and twins are a similar age to your boys and I hate it when people say stuff like that in front of them. Especially as with us the opposite is true - my stepsons / sons are a lot tidier and often more helpful than my stepdaughter who is the eldest. We all joke about my stepdaughter's messy room, unmade bed and her 'floordrobe' as none of her clothes ever seem to be in her cupboard. Whereas my 11yo stepson is the exact opposite. He is so tidy and volunteers to help with chores. They are all special and individual - but boys really are precious. MMx

To the OP good comeback, I loved the fact that I had my two boys to help my hubby around the house with groceries, trash and things of that nature, so I could sit back in relax. I bet at that moment, she was wishing for some extra hands. I really wish people would think sometimes before they speak!!

I would have done the same thing! Only I may not have been witty enough or even fast enough to come up with a responce.

Good for you! I'm 21 weeks along with my second little boy, and I have gotten pity looks followed by "Aw, I'm so sorry," on more than one occasion. It drives me insane! They act like I just told them I was diagnosed with cancer. This may come to a shock to some, but I was hoping for another little boy. He's a blessing, not a death sentence.

I hear ya! I was so excited when my 2nd was a boy. Just easier. Hoping the 3rd was too, and while I'm thrilled now, really bonded with this nugget, I was originally upset she wasn't a boy. I had my dream family vision of my husband and I with our 4 little boys, all looking similar (mini him's). So I'm not upset anymore, I'm thrilled she's (knock on wood) healthy so far, I still look enviously at all boy fams. I think single gender families are so neat, regardless boy or girl. Something to be said about them! It just so happened I was on the all boy road! But to the single gender moms, you are very lucky in my eyes.
