Yes, my little angel has all of them and I think I'm going crazy.  We have temporarily taken her off breastmilk and have tried ever possible formula.  I have a GI appointment tomorrow becuase she has started choking on throw-up at night and is just miserable.  Anyway, just looking for suggestions or moral support from anyone who can relate.  DH and I are exhausted and frustrated that we haven't seen any improvement with all the effort we have put in to finding a solution.  Any ideas?

I really wish you the very best of luck.  My son had acid reflux, major projectile vomit, and lots of gas.  He also would spit up at night ALOT.  It wouls scare me sometimes.  Sometimes he would even have it come out his nose.  I had noticed the gas got better when I stopped breastfeeding.  However, he lived on Mylicon drops.  (they dont help much.  As far as the reflux and spitup, I tried about everything too.  I ended up on soy Similac.  It seemed to do the best for me.

As far as my daughter.  She has all things as well.  (except constipation)  The thing that works best for me is the Enfamil a.r.  she does not spit up near as much.  Her reflux seems to be more mild.  Her gas has also cut down alot.  Although I do give her little tummys a couple times a day.  At night time you may want to try like 2 teaspoons of Rice in her bottle to help hold the food down.  Is she on anything for the reflux?  Violet is on AXID.  It seems to work good compared what my son was on.  I have also noticed it helps to sleep at an incline. They carry the incline pads at babies r us and Target.  Also try Walmart.  Good Luck!!!

Melissa, Thanks for all the advice.  Ella is on Prilosec and we tried Zantac first.  Also, I do add cereal to her night time bottles to try and keep it down.  It seems to work, but she had cereal the few times she choked on her spit up too...ughh.  My Pediatrician already recommended that I thicken all her bottles, but I am concerned she will get huge too fast like my son.  I think the GI doctor will probably recommend trying a new med and thickening more bottles.  I hope she has ideas for the gas too.  That is the problem that keeps us all awake at nights.  We have a lot of GI problems in the family and I think my kids are doomed to suffer something like that.  My chiropractor recommended putting her on Probiotics.  I am going to ask about them today.  Do you know anything about them?  Thanks, Lora

If possible, keep breastfeeding your baby. Breastmilk is less painful for them to bring up than formula. My daughter is in the same boat, and her pediatrician prescribed Zantac to make her stomach contents less acidic. Your baby will probably continue to spit up, because it seems to be a physical condition (the valve at the top of the stomach isn't strong enough yet). I suggest more frequent burping, keeping her more upright after feedings, and lots of love and patience!

Mylicon drops help with gas, and my pediatrician recommends giving them regularly (every 4-6 hours), even if the baby isn't fussy. That will help keep the baby comfortable.

As far as constipation is concerned, your baby probably doesn't have a problem with it. Breastfed babies usually don't poop very often after the first couple of weeks, since their bodies are making such good use of the milk (very little is wasted). One of my sons would have only one bowel movement per week, and yes, it was always a huge mess when he had it!

I can definitely relate to your frustration. I hope your baby feels better soon!

I can totally relate to all of you and the only thing I find that helps is to keep Colby upright on my shoulder for about a half hour, this helps her sleep and i think she gets too far into digestion to spit up, vomit or have any more gas...definitely more work for me and dad, but she sleep a lot better and so do i not having to listen for her choking, which scares the crap out of me.  We have tried other formulas, but sticking with the Similac with Lipil and using this technique has kept her more comfortable.

Thanks so much girls.  I went to the GI doctor yesterday and she is going to do a test next week to check her bacteria levels in her system. Could be the cause of the excessive discomfort she has.  The test is non-invasive and she wont be uncomfortable, so I agreed to do it.  She did recommend that babies with a lot of gas get Culturelle in their bottle once a day.  Thought that may help you all with gassy babies.  You can get it at any drug store.  It is just the good bacteria for your intestines.  Just open up one tab and poor it into a little milk.  If you baby doesn't spit up much you could put it in a whole bottle.  I thought it was interesting because most doctors just say that there is nothing that can help gas.  Also, she recommends Nestle Good Start for fussy babies because of the comfort proteins and cost effeciency.  It is the 2nd GI doctor I have heard mention it and it amazes me that Pediatricians don't recommend it more.  Anyway, I am going back to nursing as much as possible and supplementing occassionally with good start.  I'll let you know what the test says on Wednesday.

Gotta run and take a shower while I can.  I am amazed that Roxanne finds time to shower with her groups of sweethearts.

I see you posted a while ago and I dont know if your issue is solved yet but both my kids had that and took special meds however my doc had us give them I tblspn of Mylanta right before each feeding and it worked wonders! You can use the flavored cherry kids kind and she ll love it . Perfectly safe. Hope your princess feels better
