Im curious to know if CDing is a cheaper alternative to disposibles. Im trying to save money and cut costs everywhere I can think of and CDing is something I could do if it was more afforadable.

Anyone experiance diaper rashes with cloth or hardly any at all?

So much cheaper!  Even with the cost of washing, I'm saving a bundle.  I spent $300 on my stash, and I'm set for the entire time he is in diapers, AND I can use it on my next child.  Disposables would have cost me an estimated $2,0000+  (The average family spends $2,694.54 for 7,349 disposable, single-use diapers.)

I'm keeping chemicals off of my baby's bum, and I'm not filling up a landfill with more waste that is going to take hundreds of years to decompose.

To be honest, he's still gotten rashes.. but he's also gotten worse rashes while in sposies.

It's also sooooo much easier than you'd think.  I'm the most squeamish person ever.  The littlest things will make me gag, or feel sick to my stomach.  I've have zero problems cloth diapering.  I actually hate when he pees/poos in a sposie, because I think it smells so much worse than in a cloth diaper.  I think it's the pee and stuff mixing with the chemicals that makes it smell so darn gross.  When he's in cloth, I've had times where I couldn't tell if he'd pood or not until I've gone to change him.  Washing is so easy.

I just started cloth diapering in June and I really wish I had started sooner.  It makes me feel good each time I put cloth on dd and I don't even mind the washing.  Thay are super easy to use as well, especially if you get pocket diapers or flip covers and inserts.  I know that you are nearby me so if you wanted to PM me I'd be happy to plan a time to get together and I could show you what I have :)

Also as far as cost goes, it will save you a lot if you buy one size cloth diapers which are good for around 8-30lbs depending on the brand.  You'll want about 24 to 30 diapers so you can wash every 2 to 3 days.

Ah wonderful! Only thing is right now were in an apartment with no W/D or even a W/D hook-up. I do laundry once a week if that. We are currently looking for a house & hoping to find one by January at the latest. At least in a house it will already have a W/D, or if not I can just go buy one. It seems to be pretty cost effective, and the fact that you can use them for the next child has me sold!

I'll be in touch w/ you lovemy4 if we deceide that's what were going to do. Thanks so much!

The upfront cost can be a hard pill to swallow but once you buy your stash, you are set! I would recommend picking some diapers up along the way and gradually build your stash as opposed to doing it in one big purchase.
