15w u/s... need opinions and advice :)

I've posted this a few months ago. But I wanted to post it again to see if I get more opinions/info. My baby is exactly 15 weeks in this pic. My tech looked at my baby's genitals for like 3 mins and took 2 pics. I showed this pic to other u/s techs and I've been told that the pic is ambiguous. That it's a perfect example of a baby who isn't fully developed yet and that there's no clear penis or scrotum. I've also had women tell me that they were told boy and wound up w/a Girl and the baby's potty shot looked like mine. But then I've seen boys look like this too. So its leading me to believe that maybe my baby's genitals weren't fully developed enough. Anyway, any opinions or info on this pic would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We were told boy at that 15 week u/s. And we've named him and everything but then the other day I saw pics of a little girl with what I thought was a clear penis at 15 weeks but obviously it wasn't bc the woman had a girl. So I posted this pic on another u/s board and a couple of techs responded w/what I said in my OP about the pic being ambiguous. And yes I am due in Oct.

Looks like a to me. If it were mine I'd be confident. My DD's 15w1d pic was very clear, 3 lines smooth. I'm not a tech but I can't imagine a baby would be that underdeveloped at that gestation unless there was some medical condition.

You could think of doing a 3D u/s to be sure before birth if that would make you feel more confident. Lots of luck!!

Nope. I'm going to have another u/s in a couple of weeks and hopefully I'll know for sure then. To be honest, this whole thing has made me sad and frustrated bc even tho dh and I swayed girl, I am so excited to have another little man. So when that tech on the other board told me that my baby boy, might not be a boy I felt like crying. We named him, we have all his little blue clothes and cloth diapers... I wish I never posted this pic on that other board now :(. Even tho those ladies were really sweet, now I'm worried. Can someone point out his scrotum to me?

Looks like a .  I found out the genders of my girls at 15 weeks and neither looked anything like that.

Maybe I've obsessed over one too many u/s (or had one too many half caffs!) but that other pic doesn't look like a boy to me at all.

Even though you can't see the famous 3 lines, it's very clear that the genitalia is smooth and flush with the rest of the body - it doesn't stick out at all. If I were that tech I would've either kept trying to get a better shot than that, or said it was too soon to tell. I had an u/s at 16w with my 4th DS that went that way - baby was in a bad position, we caught a glimpse of what looked like possible 3 lines, but the tech said she just couldn't say one way or the other. Good thing she didn't because at 19w there was no denying it was a boy. Regardless, your u/s looks 1000x more boy than that one. Obviously mistakes happen, and I guess there's always that possibility for anyone, but with a shot like that I think it's highly unlikely and I wouldn't spend too much time stressing over it.

lol! Thanks for the reassurance fyre! So baby Colin shouldn't turn into baby Colleen lolol. Can someone still point out to me where his scrotum is? My dh wants to know. Thanks in advance. And thanks for all the posts!

I know the "other board" you are talking about, and I have to say I have found them completely unhelpful.  The GO will only comment on ultrasound pics that are super obvious anyway, and she won't say one way or another, even if she has an idea of which it is, unless it is after 16 weeks, and she can clearly see penis and scrotum or labia.  I posted pics there that she said weren't good for gender id, and this board gave me a unanimous boy vote (which is what the tech had told me- i just wanted a second opinion), and I even sent her some clips of my live ultrasound to see if she could see something better, and all I got was a one line response- "Sorry- I still can't tell"  I find that board completely unhelpful and not very considerate of mom who are stressing over whether their tech was right in giving them a certain sex.  I would put WAY more stock in this board and these ladies opinions.  Good Luck, I think you've got a boy in you oven!
