0 +12 attempt - Did i kill the sperm ;-(

Hi , I did my 1st O+12 attempt this morning - now i'm worried i may have killed the sperm..... Before dtd My CM = PH3.75 DH = PH 7.35 Had a small amount of EWCM -Did 15 ml lime douche B4 dtd. After dtd 2 mls Lime Douche after dtd 1 -3 hrs after dtd - PH combined was 6.35 - 6.50 ( applied 1 ml Lime every 30 mins) 4th hr - I was measuring PH 5.6 After 4 hrs put in lime tampon I am worrying that i may have killed all the sperm Do you think i wiped out the little tadpoles with all the lime? Any thoughts ?

Your pH is too low.  Under 4 you kill all sperm.  Good stuff in getting it low though!!

WIth your pH being so low you should not have done this douche.  What was the pH of the douche that you used?

 

Hi thanks for reply, It's never been lower that 5.5 ( since taking Supps) - I think it dipped after ovulation.... The lime douche was 2.45PH - I only continued with the douche because there was EWCM present I was clinging to the hope that because after dtd i didn't drop below 6.35ph in the first 3 hrs and then 5.6ph in the 4th hour - Do you think there may be some hope ? Gosh, I'm officially a sperm killer arn't i ? How disappointing ;-(

Pretty sure that we all have done it at one time or another!  Actually for DH if his pH goes below 7.5 then there is no movement at all!  His sperm are super sensitive!

If you need to do a lime douche to get rid of CM and your pH is that low then just do a douche with a pH of 4 this way it will not drop your pH any lower than that.

There is always hope do not give up!!  Some of those little guys can make it through the toughest conditions!

All this is good to know - thanks Babybobadoo. So a question for next time - how do I monitor his PH if we're abstaining ? It's impossible right ? Should he just go easy on the Cran & Crystal light a day before ( compared to last time)? Thanks

Check what it is the day he starts abstaining.  If his pH is still 7.35 then have it keep doing what he has been doing try not to change anything, this way you know that his pH should remain consistent because that is what is has been all month.  If you find that it has dropped lower then I would go easy on the Cranberry & CL.
