My God! Now Dh is ashamed to do his pretests!!!

Hi girls!

After all this debates and convincing dh to do PGD after THREE long years, he does not want to give his sample in a lab ("what a shame"!!! he said)...I am suppose to cycle in September so time is going on! What to do? Has someone done a cycle without dh's pretests? Any ideas?! (my lab wants him to come to the lab, not to have the sample done at home...)

I'm so sorry!  I would find another lab that will let him do it at home!  It shouldn't be such a big deal to do it at home and run it in.  Or I'd push the current lab - ask to talk to the person in charge, etc.

 firstly Helena, congrats, I didn't realise you had reached this stage, I'm thrilled for you.  I remember you from years back!  As others have mentioned, try another clinic, from memory there is a time frame that they like the sample in, I think its within the hour, but best check.   

I'm with TwoSweetGuys!  Us girls have to go through SO MUCH on our bodies, and with logistics, if DH complained about his small inconveniences, I'd strangle him!!!  lol

I was thinking along the same lines but didn't dare say anything for fear you all would think I am a meanie... If DH even tried to wiggle his way out... I'd jump on his butt!  I just plan on buying him a special magazine to make it nicer for him.  He assures me he will not have a problem .

I know he will not read this but I have to put it out there in the universe... DH has been so much more supportive in this journey than I ever thought possible.  When we had our boys we were both VERY young and he was really not supportive.  He has been hearing about it for the past 10 years... So his new mature attitude is long awaited and 100% appreciated!  I just hope it continues.  (As and example... when I had DS #2- I was 1 week over due and developed meningitis just prior to the onset of contractions so not only was I in pain from labor, I had a 106 temp and the worst headache of my life.  Couldn't have an epidural.  DH had the nerve to complain about a neck ache and needing to sleep thoughout my labor!)   Sorry... just needed to get that out! .  He has some major making up to do!

 My husband is fretting over whether he will be able to drink while on holiday as it may affect the sperm!!!  I'm also preparing him for "his bit"...I have forewarned him that Dr Lin supplies mainly asian porn according to a post on here a few days ago.  I have told DH to start getting interested in asian porn now!

You are right, girls.  am going to push the lab for doing the sample at home. I thought it would modify the quality of the sample but if not, this is the best solution. My dh just said "yes" for a 4th baby but does not really agree, at the bottom of his heart. This is a "gift" for me, he said. I know a child is conceived with each part of the couple but, in my case, dh is not really involved now. I know him well and know he will be trilled when the baby will be here!!! (if we succeed...) Thanks for your ideas, ladies!

Question for HRC's ladies : can the sample be done at the hotel as well?!
