Low blood sugar would cause that! It can be very scary. I have hypo episodes where my blood sugar drops too low, usually because I have been too busy with other things and running after baby. The breastfeeding does not cause my low blood sugar but it contributes to it because baby is taking a lot of calories so just because you are bottle feeding doesnt mean it isnt that. When I have hypo episodes I get really shakey and I go alternatively hot then cold and I get all clammy and start to get all confused and disorientated so that I cant make sense of things and then I start to feel really sleepy. If I have something sugary straight away then the symptoms fade - those glucose tablets you can get are brill for that, just two or three raises your blood sugar right back up. I also stock up on energy drinks like Lucozade which I know have caffeine in them (a bit of a no no since I am breastfeeding but when I dont feel like eating I can get sugar from my drinks instead) but they are also great at raising blood sugar levels. Low iron can cause dizziness too but my levels are fine so my dizziness is a combination of low blood sugar and pressure. If you have that feeling again hun you must eat something sugary quickly. It might be something else but if it is hypoglycemia and your blood sugar drops too low you can end up losing consciousness. I am not saying that too scare you in any way but I have been close to there a couple of times (the time I ended up fitting, for example) and it is really frightening for those around you. Please please please keep eating regularly. I know you dont feel like it but your body needs those calories. Also I bought one of those little glucose monitors you can get for diabetes and I monitor my blood sugar and any time it drops before a certain level or I start to feel sick I use that to check it. I have been making a real effort to consume more sugar and it definitely reduces the dizziness. Again I dont want to scare you but it does really sound like the low blood sugar thing so please keep eating!

hi darling...............

I aint been on here for a while coz I been feeling not myself too !!! I went on antidepressents a couple of weeks ago as I felt terrible and had feelings that I was dying too, I think that was all to do with the PND rather than anything being wrong with me to cause death !!! I haven't stopped bleeding since having the baby and convinced myself I had womb or cervical cancer and kept thinking of Jade Goody, I still feel a little scared but the feelings have eased since the tablets have started kicking in !!! I have also felt dizzy, not felt hungry, and had night sweats, but that is all to do with the anxiety that has accompanied the depression !!!

I am starting to feel better now thank the Lord above...............

PM anytime sweetie

Lol, you are welcome hun. Im glad I was able to help. I also get upset stomachs and feel constantly sick, that can be a sign of low blood sugar too. The important thing is that if you feel a hypo episode coming on and start to feel unwell that you get sugar in your body as soon as possible. Lucozade is great because it is pure glucose. The tablets are even better. Orange juice is good too. Are you in the UK? My doc has been a bit of an ass about the whole hypoglyemia thing but they seem to have a lot more advice and stuff in America on it. My sis is a fifth year med student so we had a bit of a self-diagnosis going on lol.

You could always try keeping a food diary - that has helped me monitor my eating and make sure I eat enough! If you eat something and the feelings go away then it probably is low blood sugar. The wee monitor I got was only like £15, just got it from Boots and it just allows you to quickly check whether your sugar has dropped or not. I so hope you start to feel better hun. It is really scary and horrible. PND will not help because if you dont feel like eating you probably wont realise you are hungry. Good luck hun and EAT EAT EAT (hooray!).
