One white line onthe u/s?

 My friend just had a quick 18 week scan and the tech gave her a girl guess because she didn't see "boy parts." She also didn't see girl parts either, just one while line. What would your guess be based on a single white line?

I've had pics for my boys with just 1 solid line (profile shot), really at that stage potty shot is the way to go.

 She told me it was a "between the legs shot." They did see something sticking up, but the tech said it was most likely the cord.

I wouldn't put much stock in a girl guess unless the tech saw actual girl parts, not because no boy parts were seen. Sorry, I'm sure that's frustrating for your friend.

I had a friend who did my u/s one at 14 and one at 16 and he guessed girl both times because he couldn't get a good look at everything he saw 3 lines very quickly but at my 18 week scan at my doctor's office the lady kept me in there for an hour because the baby would cooperate she somehow got the baby to move and it was a boy!  He had the umbilical cord between his legs the whole time so it covered his parts up.  I am so glad she kept me in there so long to make sure because she wanted to be positive.  He is now 16 months old.  So I wouldn't go on that for sure.  I would go back for the 3d later if she can't go back at 20 weeks.
