Definately caused contractions but nothing that lasted and caused me to dialate. Worth a shot though

I am due on the 1st July with my 3rd baby and have drunk raspberry leaf tea for 3-4 weeks prior to the birth. It is not supposed to set off contractions but is believed to tone the uterus and soften the cervix in preparation for the birth. It has made both of my labours easier at 5 and a half hours each or this is what I have allowed myself to believe anyway. It is worth a try anyway as if the cervix is soft then surely it will dilate quicker? I am currently drinking mine now. Good luck!!

I'm not in your DD but I drank TONS of RLT. From 32-34, 2 cups a day, 34-36 3 cups, and 38 to 41 4 cups a day... a ridiculous amount.

It obviously didn't put me in labor BUT it toned my uterus so much that from first contraction  to in my arms was 1.5 hours.  Probably would have been 1 hour but her arm was up over her head so I had to push her out, elbow first, LOL.

I'd defnitely recommend it~!

Proud Mommy!!!

Well, I have a funny story!!  Before DS was born, I had asked DH to pick me up some Rasberry Leaf Tea on the way home from work and I left the tea on the counter b/c I was craving Rocky Road ice cream as usual and went to bed after I ate the ice-cream and ended up getting contractions that night and going into labor......  The funny thing I asked myself was.."What if I'd drank the tea that night?"  Then I would've SO thought it was the tea that caused me to go into labor....LOL!!!

It def worth a try!!  Who knows... Maybe it brought me some good-luck..LOL!!  GL Good Luck Clover

No prime time to start it as you don't want a soft cervix much earlier than that. I started last week at 37 weeks but usually start at 36 weeks, 3 cups a day and if you don't enjoy it just add 1 teaspoon of sugar, it makes it more tolerable. Good luck.

I've just been reading a little about this and have started taking 2 tablets/day now at 35 weeks. Not expecting to labor any earier, but hoping to prepare my uterus for an easier birth.

I started drinking a cup a day at 32 weeks and slowly increased the cups.  At 35 weeks I bought the tablets and started taking them per the bottle's instructions.  At 36 weeks and at 37w4d weeks no dilation/no effacement.  I pray that it helps when that magic moment comes.  I'm also taking 1000mg of evening primrose twice a day orally, so it's not doing much yet.
