Bathing with my boys

 Hey ladies i am just wondering what age do you stop having baths and showers with your kids. I still bathe with my boys and they are 1 and 3 1/2. I enjoy bathing with the boys and i was just wondering am i doing the wrong thing?

 I never bathed with my kids...i thought it was difficult to get us both out at the same time. But my DH did bath with my last child and that was from age 10 months to age 3ish. Not to change the subject...but i put my make up on and do my hair b/f i dress and often have all 4 of my kids running in and out of my room. DH says i should be more modest...as well as most pp...and i probably should as they are getting older. But i really don't know. I have thought about it and hate to lock them out b/c when i do they beat on my door. I was thinking maybe if we are open about our bodies, then it will prevent their curiosity that's soon to arise? I may be totaly off track... Anywhos Yours seem young enough still=) xXx

I take the cues from my kids. I grew up with my parents being very open when there were in the nude and I am the same with my kids. I will take a shower sometimes with my 6 year old, but he usually showers on his own. And though my 8 yo does see me naked (I am like the previous poster), I don't shower with him. Dh wants me to be more modest around the kids as well. I try, but usually forget!

I think you are fine.    I stopped with DS1 when he started being too interested in my body...probably around 4 1/2.  Though I do still walk around barely dressed as I am getting ready for the day.  I have started trying to be more discreet in the past few months, as he has shown some awkwardness.  I would still bathe with DS2, if I ever felt like it (he's 3). 

 I think they'll be just fine.  I let L in my bath all the time... in fact, when I was still trying to get the little bugger to latch getting in the tub was the only thing that would work.  When he gets a bit older, I'll just follow his cues.   When it comes to bath time when they are that little, I don't think it's a big deal.  My mom used to take baths with my brothers when they were little - they've all grown up just fine :)

I bathe with my son a few times a week. Sometimes he just likes the comfort of having me in there with him!!

My son is almost 3.5 and loves to bathe and shower with me.  When I tell him no he begs and will throw a fit!  He just loves being around people and I think he will always be a "more the merrier" kind of person.  He has no modesty at all yet.  He will happily run around naked outside still- and does when it is hot outside.  I figure I will just follow his cues on when he no longer feels comfortable- or I guess if he gets too curious.

As long as you both are happy, I think you are fine!

 My son who is almost 6 still sees me naked a fair bit we have a bath and shower in the same room and i usally let him and his 2 year old brother sit in the bath while i shower its a very small bathroom so im close to them and can watch them every second so they are safe and if the two year old were to slip down or something i can literrally take one step out and lift him up lol its that small anywho 

i think not making nudity taboo will make them when they are older not find nudity all about sex and may even help them to not just objectify women based on the bodies  i think it will show them that hey everyone has genitals its not a big deal

I don't have baths/showers with my boys because i love that time to myself, but  they see me naked all the time, they constantly come into the bathroom when i'm showering or on the loo, it doesn't bother me or them at all. When they start becoming more modest about themselves then i will take that as my cue to be more discreet also. I'm guessing it  will be when they hit puberty.

Your boys are so little i wouldn't worry at all, relax and enjoy having fun with them. Don't let anyone make you feel you are doing the wrong thing, only you know whats right for your family.

I'm so glad this thread was posted...b/c this was my thinking too and i didn't know if i was alone in thinking this
