hi Kate - agree with pps that it seems kind of early and the technician/dr did not seem so sure... My twin boys were guessed at 13 weeks (dangly bits) but my current boy the doctor said he could not tell until at least 18 weeks. (this was before I had heard of the nub theory) and I know it's awful to have to wait for another two weeks, so my sympathy is with you. That said, I would like to echo what princess among princes said (think it was her..) My mom and dad had 3 girls and were done. 9 years later, an oops - another girl. And 2 years after that, their long-awaited boy. Different in that my mom ALWAYS wanted a boy (and cried her heart out with each and every daughter.) All 4 of the daughters ADORED that baby boy. I think looking back that I was ever closer to him than my baby sister b/c he was so different! He wore new clothes, not hand me downs; had trucks and ambulances and really cool toys that DID things, he did different things than we did, got to have his own bedroom, and was naughty and mischievous, charming and full of life. Everyone loved him (and still do). His sisters absolutely marvelled and reveled in him. And yet, because he had 4 big sisters, he did plays and theatre (home-made productions), baked cookies with us, played dress up, loved playing with our pom-poms, and knew all of our cheerleading cheers. Today he is 29 years old, sees my mom every Sunday (more than the rest of the daughters do), has his own photography and website business, makes soap and candles and homemade jewelry as christmas gifts, and dances with me at every single wedding and family event we go to (he is big and strong and lifts me over his head when we re-enact dances from movies..). He is a truly wonderful creative amazing, sensitive and strong man and I think having such a gaggle of sisters to look after and adore him helped contribute to that. I know you really want a little girl, so if this doesn't help you feel a little better, I am sorry!
