I think I started on this board a little different than everyone else and I wanted to share my story. I have seen people asking if we are for real and heard this website described as an anti-BGM site and I believe my story will show the truth.
I started checking out this sight when my husband and I decided to try for baby #4. I actualy think I checked out the site when we were going for baby #3 but I have baby brain and can no longer remember correctly. This time, after 3 boys, I was going to militantly follow everything that was over 60% in favor of girls according to Maureen's surveys. I also extrapolated and did a little research on acidic food which I added to my diet. It was around that time that I saw a news story for BGM. I even tivo'd it for my husband . I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever heard of. I am one of those people that has to buy gifts last minute or I give them out ahead of time, the anticipation is too much for me. I bought the test before I was pregnant, I even used those pregnancy tests that came with it. After much stress and effort I became pregnant (o.k. it only took 3 months but that girl diet thing did not agree with me and it felt like a year!) At that point I noticed BGM being mentioned on this site. It looked like boy results could be wrong, based on the science (I know, don't laugh!) I thought girl results would still be right. So I sent in the test to the lab and decided that if it said girl I would know it was a girl and if it said boy I would have to wait for the u/s. Well it said boy, I waited for the u/s and lo and behold it was a girl. At all 3 u/s. Reading about the other women going through this made the wait a lot easier. I never gave into the sadness of not realizing my dream of having a daughter because I could read about other women that it was wrong for. At first it was a trickle of wrong results but it has now become a flood.
This site did not start out with this amount of BGM posts and comments, it was a natural progression as the story got stranger and stranger. I am incredibly grateful that I found this site. From the advice that got me my as yet unborn daughter, to the comraderie and empathy that has been shown from so many fantastic women, I have looked forward to logging in as often as possible.
A big thank you goes to Maureen for everything.
