I've never cared which gender this baby was, as long as it's born alive and screaming. Having a stillbirth completely changes your views on many things, gender included. However, am I ecstatic it's probably a girl? Yes! God took my first daughter back home, but gave me her little sister. I never thought I would have a daughter at all, then Rachel came and was a girl. Only, I never got to raise her or hold her alive. So, I almost feel like this baby being a girl, somehow vindicates losing Rachel just a teensy tiny bit. It doesn't make it better, nothing ever will. She will always be my daughter and I will always long to know who she would have been as a person. But, being allowed to have another daughter is really a special treat, one I never thought I'd get to have. I feel really blessed and lucky with this one. I just pray she makes it and is born alive.
