You would think that after 4 kids I would know the answer to this question...but I don't. Is it normal/OK to have heat at the vaccination site? Alyssa got 3 vaccines yesterday (HIB, Hep A and Dtap), and now one of her legs has a huge red bump that radiates heat. I never remember the heat-part with any of my other kids.

DD had her 18 month shots on Monday and had a huge knot and redness/heat. It's almost faded today. I think it's normal.
OK. Thanks Southernbelle.

Yup, normal. If it's a nuisance, you can put a cold cloth on it to cool it down. :)

my DS3 had this around that age, too. strange, but my other boys never did.
