I just found this on the DNA worldwide website (cut and paste below):

DNA Worldwide Group is no longer distributing the Pink or Blue early Gender Test produced by 3rd party supplier Consumer Genetics.

Although customers are advised that the test is 95% accurate, most take it believing that they will not fall in to the incorrect 5% category. Having experienced the emotional upset some customers feel when faced with an incorrect result, the Directors of DNA Worldwide do not feel that it is an appropriate part of their product range.

___Is this really the reason or is it just not that accurate?   hmmmm.....

I would say that's clear confirmation that they have received many incorrect results from this test I no I've already had 3 seperate tests girl girl boy .... I just persevered to get my refund I wasn't gonna wait till the baby was born ..... They clearly didn't want to be associated wi such a flawed test. Have u used it urself ???? xxxx

yep and it said boy.   I got a follow up call with a request for me to do a re-test.  Which I never did.   I did it at the earliest day the test would allow.   I had a hard time doing the test and ended up using a razor blade to get the blood.   I already have one DS, so it would be nice to have a DD but If not this time then Microsort is a sure thing for me in the future.  Husband is totally on board...

I agree jojogirl .... It's about time these tests are made unavailable to people and at least in the Uk now there is nowhere else to obtain them so that's somethin good i suppose .....

Chloe when's ur scan to confirm the gender ????

Hi,

I'm new to this site. In the past two days I've read so many posts here and totally regret taking this test. I ordered the test well aware of the fact that DNA world wide is not offering it anymore, but I was thinking the wrong results were only girl results that turned out to be boys, so I took the risk and ordered the TMPOB-kit from genetree.com. I just wanted to be able to find out in the comfort of my own house if I'm having another boy, so nobody would see how hurt I am. When it came back last week saying "boy" I cried all day. At least I knew where i was at (I thought) and could give up hoping for my nina. After reading all your posts where boy results turned out to be girls, I have hope again and know for sure that I wasted my money. I'm nervous to find out during an ultrasound......this is exactly why I took the TMPOB. I'm suffering from gender disappointment since I had boy #1. I really don't like this about me, but I can't change it. Of course, I love my sons more than anything in the world.

I have had one scan already but will have another one at 22 wks.  Which is about 4-5 wks away.  I had one  at 15wks and the tech said she saw no sign of a penis.  I knew my Ds was a boy at 13 wks, so I took that as a good sign.  However, 15wks is still too early to be certain.    It would be nice and make my life easier to have a girl now, but I'm not opposed to three children or microsort.  I keep thinking of the friendship my DS could have with a brother.   I just have to ensure to the best of my abiliities my last is a girl  ;)

It seems that many of you are in the UK...I wonder if the lab here (U.S) is better or worse than there?  It also seems  that the research for the test was based in Italy with women there and had a nice accuracy.  I wonder how many of them were first time moms.  I'm convinced that makes a difference.

I won't have an u/s any time soon because I'm only 13 weeks. I was thinking the same as chloe36: maybe the lab techs are doing their jobs differently in the U.S. and U.K. I'm in the U.S. as well.

Chances are good that they are right in my case as mu dh and I had intercourse way after I ovulated and that means boy. I'll let you know when this agonizing time of uncertainty is over.

Daziedazie, have you tried any kind of method, so your third child would be a girl? What is up with this swaying stuff......never heard of it, but I'm well aware of the Shettles method which I did not follow (pregnancy was a surprise). I was just gathering information on how to conceive a girl when I found myself pregnant.

You are all so very nice. Hope you'll keep talking to me.

I'm so mad.........I specifically asked them in an e-mail if there could be any left over y-chromosomes from my sons in my blood. They said "no" and now I'm reading they can stay up to 27 years after you've given birth. I really should have done more research before the test. They are such a scam, and if they are right it's just a coincident.

I am just glad that someone has taken notice that this test sucks. I know they said they believe it to be 95% but I am sure they don't really feel that way. I don't think they would stop carrying it if they did.

When we order the test in the uk from dna worldwide they actually ship it to the lab in california as there is nowhere here that can do the test so we're getting it done in the same place as u in the usa ....

I did try to sway the odds but frequent bding 2 to 3 day cut off from o but i o'ed a week early so that's y i ended up wi a boy as we bd on exact day of o .....

I think to be honest he was just ment to be if this happened this month as we had been trying for 3 months to get preg and I hadn't o'ed early the other 2 mopnths ........

I'll def be keepin in touch wantanina I will be so glad if u have ur dd .....How many boys do u have at the moment xxxxx

yes daziedazie, Finn was definately meant to be. I feel the same with this baby.........we weren't ready to try for a girl before the next year, so this was a big surprise. I have two boys 3 years and 10 month old.......there are definately still y-chromosomes in my blood from them. No matter what this baby is.
