Antibiotics and Boys

I heard about quite a few women getting pregnant with boys while on antiobiotics and cough sirup.

We alredy know how cough sirup works but let't talk about antibiotics.

Antibiotics raise reproductive tract Ph by affecting (killing) acidophillus. 

Also, antibiotics (amoxicillin) can improve quality of Cm.

The book "Taking care of your fertility" by Toni Weschler,MPH recommneds taking 500 g of Amoxicillin 3xday with start 4 days before Peak day and through thermal shift.  Author reports this one working the best( better then Mucinex) to improve cervical fluid quality.  Mechanism of action is unknown.

It looks like antibiotics can change Cm quality and PH of reproductive tract really fast. 

I know it is a little bit agressive but it might be something to consider for desperate women who really can not make their Cm budge with diet, suplements and drinks (lemon water and BS drinks). 

Of course this is not for women who do not feel comfortable with taking antibiotics and who have antibiotics allergies.

Furthermore, quick lowering of reproductive tract PH can cause yest infections.  But we all know that we can get a yest infection becasue of playing with BS dushe.  Don't we?

Yes I have heard antibiotics favours boys also, from the ladies at a-gender.  I wonder what is the safe time frame before your attempt to have them if you are trying for a girl?

I know two people who got pregnant on antibiotics while on the Pill...apparently the antibiotics causes it not to work?  Both have boys...perfectly healthy.  I'm sure if one took it before ovulation it wouldn't really harm the baby too much.  Well...of course I'm not SURE but I've heeard of people on antibiotics even while pregnant when they *had* too (infections, etc).

If I were trying for a boy I would definitely do this!  Zithromax is only three days...

I'm confused by the last paragraph.  "Quick lowering of the reproductive tract ph can cause yeast infections"  Don't we want a high ph?  I'd like to try this, but nervous because I don't want to lower my ph anymore! LOL . 
Can you tell me how soon it will start to work?  I'm on cycle day 10.  If I take it now, will that increase my chances of conceiving blue on cd 13/14?

Onegirlforme-I would watch Cm and Ph closely while on antibiotics.  I heard that some women swayed for girls but conceaved boys becasue of antibiotics.  If I was trying for a girl I would wait for next cycle and watch my PH closely.

Prayingfor purple-my girl friend conceaved boy while on contraceptive+ antibiotics as well.

you definately have a point here.  There are some real dangers related to using antibiotics. 

Some people are allergic, some are carriers of some bacteria that you son't want to expose to antibiotics.  For example if you have someone with dormant TB, it is better for that person not to overuse antibiotics because you don't want TB bacillus to become "a smart one".

Also, antibiotics were over-prescribed and heavily abused in the past.  This abuse + heavy use of antibacterial soaps, detergents and cleaners made bacteria more resistant.  The whole medical society in western world took 180 degrees turn and become very stringent in prescribing them.  At the same time, in very many countries of the world people can still buy antibiotics over the counter and without prescription. 

In our case we are tryng to sway for a specific gender and we are looking for ways to get some extra help.

The truth is that Robitussin is not ment to serve the purpose of thining cervical mucus so sperm can trawel faster.  It is created to treat congestion and caugh.

Baking soda is ment to treat heart burn and not to raise PH of reproductive tract. There are a real dangers in overdosing yourself with this one.  Simproms are muscle tremor, dizziness, confusion, weakness and thrembling.

.PGD, the queen of gender swaying because it is the only techicue giving 100% results, envolves pumping your body with injections to produce numerous oocites that can be surgicaly removed, fertilised and planted back.  I am not sure that all these hormonal injections and surgical procedures are harmless as well. 

Furtermore, if you go to your GP and mention drinking large amount of bicarbionate drinks to alkalinize your reproductive tract and taking expectorants with Guaifenesen to make your Cm thiner; red flags will fly.

However, if you go to fertility specialist and mention the book "Taking care of your fertility" and show him/her a page 178 talking about improving cervical fluid quality by using antibiotics and expectorants, he or she will probably know what you are talking about.

Goal of getting pregnant or swaying odds in our case is very often justufying means.

I think that we are all working hard on our dream and on swaying our odds. 

It is the metter of the personal preference of how far each of us is ready to go. 

Nobody should do anything what makes him/her feel uncomfortable.

This suggestion is again not ment for everyone.  It is for despearate girls who have stubborn PH and are not able to get their PH up with dieting, awful BS drinks, lemon water and supplements.

This is a desperate measure for desperate times.

I know, that if my PH do not change with all of this in next two months-I am ready to try this as well.  I am not carrier of any nasty bacteria and I am ready to take my chace and do this if I have to.

2 small problem that I can think about (besides the risks already mentions:

1.  Finding a doctor to give you this

2.  Antibiotics give you the runs!!!  YUCK lol

Don't forget- antibiotics makes the bcp stop working--- oh wait....

Oh one more big warning.  Do NOT use old or expired unused antibiotics from your meds cabinet.  Old antibiotics call destroy your kidneys- to the point of needing a transplant- DO NOT RISK IT! Get a fresh script from your doc.

I took antibiotics when I was seven weeks pregnant and the doctor told me that it was completely safe in pregnancy, ofcourse not all antibiotics are safe in the pregnancy.

my uncle is a pharmacist, i asked him about expired antibiotics, he said he know expired tylenol can hurt your kidneys, and is not recommended, he said antibiotics when the pharmacy gives it to you they put a 1 yr expiration when the big bottles they have are like 3 yr expirations, he said as long as they are capsules and not the liquid.
NOT SAYING ITS GOOD TO USE EXPIRED MEDICATION, just wanted to throw this out there!

I was on antibiotocs all three times I got pregnant as I had bronchitis,  Very interesting

 I am neither condoning or condeming the use of antibiotics while TTC. I am just giving you a source to purchase online without prescription. My coworker and I have used them many times before for things like Vaniqa, Retin-A etc.
