OPK as HPT positive?

Hi all,

It's been a while since I logged on.  I took an OPK as an HPT this morning with FMU.  It came up almost positive - very close to the same color as the test line, but not quite.  I went to the store and bought a FRER (not the new and improved 6 days sooner kind, just the 5 days sooner kind).  I tried to use SMU but didn't produce much of a sample.  I tested anyway and it came out negative.  I'm going to try again tomorrow morning.  Just wondering what you all think?  I'm only 6 dpo.

I think the OPK being almost positive could go either way.  But 6 DPO is way too early to get a positive on a FRER.  If you are going to test tomorrow don't waste another FRER, at least wait until you are 8 DPO to do another one of those but 10 DPO would be even better.  I know it's hard to wait, I'm around 6 DPO with a possible oops pregnancy and I really really want to know.  It's harder to wait to know when you don't want to be, I think.  I'm holding out until Sunday/Valentine's Day to test. 

Thanks!  Waiting to Sunday was my original plan, but I started having some symptoms that made me wonder.

 I agree with Moaning myrtle I'd wait till 8 to10 DPO and then have another go, symptoms are good so best of luck :) 

Moaning Myrtle Im in the same boat as you in regards to ooops LOL Im living to know and Im about depending on o 6 days or 9 DPO Im not 100% sure when I ov. Im still breastfeeding and cycles a bit all over the place GRRRRR so I either BD 4 days before O or on O ,head is melted. although I think I will feel a little sad if its negative I must be raving mad! 

Helena- That is SO crazy. The same thing happened to me yesterday. I got a positive on an OPK. And I'm only 4 DPO. I think it was a bad test. Cuz when I did another one a few hours later it was negative.

I'm sure I O'd on cycle day 16-17. As I was using CBFM and OPK's and both had a clear positive.

I have had NO symptoms. And our timing was completely off. So I don't think I'm preggo.

Symptoms are a promising sign Hope you see a BFP for Valentines!!

It seems a lot of us are planning on starting test on Valentines. That was what I was thinking of doing. Eventhough I know I'm not preggo. I'm a POAS addict so I can't pass up a chance to test..

This just happened to me yesterday at 13dpo.  I have been getting neg hpt's up until 11dpo and then hadn't taken another, decided to wait for AF.  On 13dpo decided to take an opk as I have a ton of them left and it was positive!  Went out and bought a frer, it was negative...so not sure what is up with that, but am expecting AF today.

Hope it is a sign of an upcoming bfp for you!
