Oh Maureen! I wish I had some news!!! I just got back from another appointment and they are finally going to induce me tommorow. I am still really, really high and my ceervix is still very, very thick, ugh! My first was 11 days overdue, this one is working on 8...I guess having 13 years between them really makes a difference. At this point I am convinced my cervix is made of cement and super glue and I told the midwife to get her jackhammer ready. I will let you all know as soon as humanly possible. I am hoping the hospital has wireless internet, but who knows.
I am off to get the primrose oil capsules in place and drink some rasberry leaf tea.
Thanks for all the well wishes.

Talk about being in suspense.
They have been trying to induce me since Thursday. I had 2 doses of miso Thursday, then I was sent home. I went back 7 am on Friday and had 3 doses. Plenty of contractions but my cervix is very posterior so still no baby. They sent us home Friday night to a home with no power since NH had windstorms and a few trees knocked down some power lines. They gave me Saturday off, so we rented a hotel room for the night. We went back first thing Sunday morning and I had a full day of pitocin. They gave me as much as they could possibly give me. I did finally loose most of my mucus plug and I had MAJOR contractions, but still at 11 at night they sent me home. I am home today to rest and then go back in tommorow at 7 am. The baby just will not drop, my cervix is sof, but just not dialating. I have never heard of anyone having this much trouble going into labor, especially when they are so over due. I promise to keep all of you ladies up to date inbetween trys.
Thank you for the well wishes,
Jena

JENA-
TAKE LOTS OF EVENING PRIMROSE!!!!! INSERT LIKE 5 INTO YOUR CERVIX EVERY COUPLE OF HOURS!!! IT WILL NOT HURT YOU. IT WILL ONLY HELP TO RIPPEN YOUR CERVIX. I WAS 4CM WITH MY SON AND 3CM WITH VIOLET BEFORE I EVER WENT INTO LABOR. I WAS TOLD TO DO THIS BY A MIDWIFE. ALSO, DRINK LOTS OF RED RASBERRY LEAF TEA TODAY. ALL THESE THINGS ARE BETTER THAN INDUCTION!!!!!! I DONT RECOMMEND CASTROL OIL!!! IT CAN MAKE THE BABY GO POO POO IN THE WOMB. (WHICH CAN HURT THE BABY) TWIST YOUR NIPPLES UNTILYOU FEEL CONTRACTIONS START THEN STOP. WHEN THE CONTRACTION STOPS TWIST AGAIN. (IT DOES TAKE ABOUT TWENTY MIN. THOUGH.) REPEAT. DO NOT TAKE A HOT BATH OR SHOWER...IT WILL ONLY SLOW THINGS DOWN. THERE ARE ALSO PRESSURE POINTS IN YOUR HANDS AND FEET. LOOK THEM UP ON THE INTERNET. PRESSURE HELPS TO INDUCE NATURALLY.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Thank you for all the pointers and advice Melissa. I have been doing the primrose oil and red rasberry leaf tea, but I am so sore from all the contractions today, I think my women parts need a break, lol. I told the doctor today that I do not want any more pitocin. If they are concerned for the baby, which they aren't she is very happy and healthy, they can give me a C-section, otherwise I will wait for her to come naturally. I think maybe the version put her in a funky position that will not allow her to drop. Ican't imagine why all these drugs are not working otherwise.
I definitely feel like I will be pregnant forever, but I also know this too shall pass and try to think of all the women, even just the ones on this board that are giving birth easily every day for inspiration. The child is going to give me a run for my money, first trying to figure out what sex she is, then her being in the wrong position, now this, lol. Either that or it is really, really comfortable in my uterus!
Thanks ladies!

jena,
my zach was high up there too. even after they started my pitocin and broke my water - they kept telling me how high he was. although he was my 4th, my 3rd born is almost 9 so i had some years inbetween as well.
it was very weird this time cause i actually felt zach make his way down the birth canal. i had never felt the others coming down. it didn't hurt at all (thanks to the good ol' epidural) but it was a very strange but nice thing to go thru.
we are all rootin' for you :) let us know when she decides to make her way into the world!

Ok C-section tommorow morning, 6am. I am very relieved, the baby is measuring almost 10 pounds! It won't be the natural childbirth I had hoped for but as long as Colby Belle is happy and heathly and here, that is all I can hope for. I will update you all as soon as I get the chance. Turns out the hospital does not have internet access, so it may not be until the weekend.
Thanks!

Oh My goodness! 10 pounds!
I'm saying prayers for you, and am glad they opted for a C-section for you. Doesn't sound like she was going to cooperate!!
Take good care of yourself, and let us know as soon as possible!

Jena,
I had a csection with my first. It is not so bad. I am having a scheduled csection on Friday feb 24 for my second because my first never dropped, I didn't dilate, 33 hours of labor...nothing, etc. Don't sweat it. The only advice I can give you is to move around as soon as they let you. It will be a much less painful recovery if you don't let yourself get too stiff! Good luck!

Colby Belle made her way into the world at 7:29 am this morning. She is very healthy. Feeds like crazy, sucks her thumb, and loves her daddy. She was 9 pounds 4 ounces and 21 inches long. The C-section was great after a long night of contractions.
I can't wait to email all the lawyers and journalists:o) I will poast some pics soon!
