TTC Girly girl - Feb 2010

Hi Ladies! I am at 8 DPO and already planning for my next cycle!! Something tells me this is not going to be the month. So.... I'm trying to decide if I should attempt athe TBM with a diva cup?!? My DH is totally opposed, which is pretty irritating! I mean seriously, how hard is it really on his part? lol! I'm also really anxious to just get pg. And then there is the whole timing thing-- I seem to ovulate on a different day each month ( 12, 13, 14, or 15) so how am I suppose to do the cut off or O+12?? Yikes! I'm confused! hi there aussie--some advise please--its very tiring all this , especially since its late at night. so did one dh discard at 1.ish --replens was in at about 10 ish--tehn fell asleep adn did a second bd at 5 with very shallow penetration --dhs ph on first discard was 8ish mine 4.6 ish (yesterday was day 13 of cycle, today day 14). checked now and ph is up but at work adn dont ahve my replens so going to get it at lunch and put some in. might be too late or NOT cos no +opk ---ususally positive opk around day 16/17 so today will be a two day cut off---cervix getting higher than last week and tip a bit softer...its 11 .20 now ---going to do opk....wha tshould my plan be for tonight ---should i bother to do 2 released from dh cos its so tiring or should i jsut do replens/sudafed then bd . i cant do teh lime douch cos i just can tmake the stupid distilled water. can i put replens in after bd to keep ph down adn what is the protocol is it different to using the lime. please help i am desperate--i think tonight might be the night. SO TIRED FROM LAST NIGHT 

Hey newby... I'm no expert (if you want help with your plan then buy gold membership and Tamara will be able to answer any questions you have).... but in answer to your query about tonight (I'm in Australia too.. not sure where you are so I hope I'm not too late to answer your questions). I wouldnt have DH release twice... as far as I have heard its best to frequent BD leading up to a cut-off, but that usually just means once a day or even every other day (I could be wrong?). So I would definitely BD tonight once as you are CD14 and you only get a +OPK on CD16 at the earliest (+OPK usually means O is still 12 to 36 hours away)... which kinda makes it a 3 day cut-off after tonight (you might even consider BD tomorrow night).

So do the replens (assuming it works for you) an hour before BD, then BD, then check PH 5 mins after BD (use replens, you can buy distilled water too!), then check every 1/2 hour up to 4 hours (so if you BD at 8pm you will have finished your chekcing by midnight), the use the lime douche tampon (or do nothing I guess if you dont have distilled water) and go to sleep!!

 Who all is doing tbm for their attempts?  I'm thinking of doing it...dh is okay with it.  His ph is always 8-8.5 or higher so I'm thinking it would make things so much easier if I just did tbm.  If I use that method, do I still have to check ph every so often even though I'm lowering his ph down so low?

When I was having my multiple m/c's, the only thing that kept me kind of sane was taking a pregnancy test to see it was getting darker or popped up right away and stayed the same darkness day to day.  You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes!

So, I might be trying in Feb. after all, hehe.  I keep going back and forth...but if I do try it would be a hole in a spermicidal condom at O + 12..then maybe I would suck up a tiny bit of sperm in the condom and insert, but not all of it.  Just to give me a tiny bit of a chance ;).

My diet hasn't been that good, and would like to lose about 4 lbs. before attempt (as I have gained 4 lbs.)...so that should help my pH as it is in the low 5's right now.

But have been on supps, ions like crazy, trying not to stress, but had a stressful incident at work this past week, but hopefully if I do get preggo the spermicide will make it more girl friendly.  Will be winter and full moon, but whatever.

Either way I won't regret it, so I think I should just go for it ;).

Dh was down with it, but need to bring it up to him again as I told him last week we should wait.

No I'm not planning on using a diva cup..I dont' have one and wasn't planning on doing tbm but dh seems to be okay with it and he wasn't before so I think I will go for it...I'm not sure if I'm comfortable using the diva cup.  Not sure.  If all goes well maybe I will order one :)  GL to you as well!

AFM I avoided POAS yesterday as I didn't want to be too upset on my birthday although DS2 was such a brat and really upset me all day :(. Last night I thought AF was coming as I was starting to get the leg aches and back ache that I usually get but it didn't phew. Although I didn't pee on a preggy test I did pee on an OPK just out of curiosity and I did get a second line - lighter than the control but there...oh well I guess time will tell. I'm so nervous!

There is a post from Tamara somewhere (in gold, maybe?) where she has quotes from medical docs confirming that swaying does NOT cause chromosomal or other birth defects. So, guilt be gone!

I haven't read all the backposts yet, so I don't know where the diagnosis came from, but just BTW, I know a woman who got a 1:14 for her chromosomal defects screen, and still had a completely normal child. HTH!

Hey, I did the same thing! I tested every day for the first three weeks, then went to twice a week for the fourth - sixth weeks. I only told my husband and acupuncturist for the first five weeks, then my parents and manager at 8, then my closest friends at 10 weeks, then the world (including my inlaws) at 15 weeks. When you've been through a loss, we get it. But this time, things are looking great for you!

I just did a TBM (no diva cup) with a 3 day cut-off and am now in the 2ww (2DPO).... not sure why but I think I have less chance of getting preggo this way so I am kinda thinking maybe I will go for the TBM and O+12 next month.

With TBM you still have to check the PH every 1/2 hour (not 5 mins after TBM though) then use the lime douche as necessary and put lime tampon in after 4 hours... so its all the same really just that we add the lime to the sample and insert .
