Going to see a general surgeon tomorrow...updated in reply

Apparently the intense pain I've been feeling in my tailbone area is not from the baby...I have a cyst and have to have it lanced, drained, and packed with gauze tomorrow...should be fun, right?  Ugh! Why me?...Went to my family dr today to have it looked at but she wouldn't do it in office because I've had the pain (and probably the cyst) for a few weeks so she's worried its now tunneled and infected which only a general surgeon will be able to take care of properly.  Ick!...not looking forward to it!

No I guess they just use local and give me pain pills for when it wears off....usually people lay face down on the table though...guess I'll be bent over a table or chair...I don't know how they'll do it as big as I am there is no way I can lay on my belly.  So embarassing!

 I wonder if they don't have one of those pillows like chiropractors use with the big belly hole in the center?

Ugh!  Girls that was thee worst procedure ever!  I just had to lay on my side on this flat table (like a physical therapist table)..they didn't even give me a pillow for under my belly. The nurse came in saying how bad she felt for the dr cause she had been on call for the last 2-3 days and was soo tired.  They spayed this liquid nitrogenish spray on my tailbone area and they didn't block the overspray...it was soo cold it burned terribly..I cried and it took my breath away.  Then I still felt the doc put the needle in for the local anyway...so don't know what the point of the spray was.  They couldn't take the cyst out because of the risk of the infection spreading they only lanced and drained it...she asked me what I could take for pain and I said the only thing I knew for sure was tylenol but there was probably stronger ones too.  She said well just take the tylenol that should be good enough...let me tell you the local wore off shortly after I left and I cried almost all the way home the pain was so bad.  Its better this morning but now I get to try to take the guaze packing out by myself since Dh is on the road....my brother (who has had it done too) said it will feel a lot better once I get the guaze out too...I hope he's right!

Ouch! Where is the compassion for preggers.  I hope you fill better and can focus on baby again.

can you ask your OB about anything else to take?  Maybe hydrocodone?  I hope you feel better soon!

 You poor thing!!  Sounds like the surgeon's office had horrible bed side manners!  Hope you get feeling better soon!
