I am mostly a lurker. Thought I would show off my new little man. He was born December 4th and weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz. He was 10 lbs at his 2 week appointment. He is a little bit fat ;) LOL. I had contractions from Sunday on but they didn't seem to be doing anything and would come and go. They were real contractions but wouldn't go any further than early labor pains. I was supposed to have a u/s on Tuesday to check his size because he was 5 1/2 lbs at 31 weeks but it got rescheduled for Weds. Then that one got rescheduled for Thursday. I went to L & D Weds cause I was so tired and miserable and they were supposed to get me something to help me sleep but they wouldn't :( I was 1-2 cm and about 25 % . I was so upset. Thursday a.m. went in for my u/s and he was measuring about 9 lbs and I wasn't due for another 2 weeks. I went over with Roanin by 4 days and my doc was leaving town for 2 weeks so he decided he wanted to induce me. He was afraid I would go late and the baby would be huge and he wouldn't be here. He checked me before I left and said I was 2-3 cm and really soft. They got me in finally at 5 p.m. that night and I was having contractions every 6 minutes but I couldn't feel all of them and they were pretty much the same thing I had been having all week. My doc came to check me and said I was 3-4 now and so he just wanted to break my water to see what happened. I got the epi right after (yay! my last 2 were med free so this was nice). I got stuck at 5 cm and I thought maybe he was hung up on my hip cause I felt a lot of pressure in my left hip with contractions. So we started rotating me back and forth from side to side. They gave me a "whiff" of pitocin as the nurse called it. And finally the pressure went away. When i started feeling pressure I asked the nurse to check me. I was a 10 but the baby was still kind of high. She told me I could push him down but I decided to just go back to snoozing and let him come down on his own. I didn't feel like doing all the work ;) Then when the pressure wasn't going away in between contractions I called the nurse back and he was ready. The doc said he was looking the wrong way and was prepared for a difficult delivery. He reached inside and turned him as I pushed but I didn't care  because I couldn't feel a thing. He came out in like 4 or 5 pushes. I didn't tear or need an episiotomy. I think that is why the contractions all week wouldn't go in to full blown labor is because he was facing wrong and hung up on my hip. Here are some pictures I took about a week ago. He's so adorable, you should have chimed in a long time ago we are very welcoming here. There are so few boys being born into the group that I get excited when another one pops up, he is such a handsome little thing. Big congrats and have a very Merry Christmas.

 Thanks everyone. We are enjoying him immensly. I hope everyone else gets to hold their little cuties soo too. It has gone by too fast and I kinda wish it would slow down.

Thanks for posting. I like your childrens' names. Are they Irish? Congratulations on your little boy. He is a cutie.

 Roanin and Tiernen are Irish. Gavriel is the hebrew version of Gabriel and Syan and Kaidnce I got off of movies. LOL. I like unusual names but I do have Irish lineage and my DH has Scottish. We both really like Celtic/Irish/Scottish names.
