ok so i am super new to this, and i have been asking a lot of the same questions so i can give you some answers i have aquired:) Charting temps is one of the only tools we have at home to "confirm ovulation has taken place"...besides blood work and stuff, this is the one of the only ways we can look back and pinpoint ovulation. It doesn't help you predict ovulation though...thats what your monitor does. The monitors main function is to identify your fertile window, (like 6 days) which are the days you are most likely to get preggers based on whatever that monitor measures in the urine. Even though the monitor will show a little egg, it doesn't mean you have really ovulated, it just means based on info its gathered, that is when you should have ovulated. Some women have all the signs but actually never release an egg, so they aren't getting pregnant, so the docs will tell you to chart at home for a few cycles so that they can look at it and see if you are in fact ovulating every month. Same with the OPK's, they might say you have had an LH surge, but that doesn't mean you actually released an egg. That is why most women temp....to be sure. Temping charts are also a really good thing to be able to bring to your doc after trying for a while without success. do i only make sense in my head or are you following me? I have no idea about O+12, i am about to google it cause it is mentioned in these forums a lot!
