Has anyone used an opk as a hpt?

Af is due today so just for fun  I thought I would use an opk which came up positive. I really wasn't expecting that. Does it mean anything? I've tried googling it but it came up with mixed answers. If Af doesn't show today I will take a HPT tomorrow. I'm beginning to panic as I dont think I had a good attemp last month. I know that I need to stay calm until Af shows or until I do the HPT.

 I have, got a ++ HPT before a ++ OPK tho. The OPK became gradually darker the closer my AF due date came but I didn't keep testing after the ++ HPT....

Sounds very promising for you!! If AF is due today you can test any time of day :)

I got a + on a OPK used as a HPT at 14 DPO and I was pregnant. I would do a HPT FX for you

Thanks for the replies. I've been out and bought some HPT's. I'm going to test in the morning if Af doesn't show before then. I will let you know the outcome. x

 I read a whole website the other day that explained the LH and HCG chemicals were like identical twins except that HCG has an extra part, so if you are getting a positive OPK you are most certainly prego

I used an OPK as pregnancy test last month.  The OPK was positive but the pregnancy test was negative.  So, it did not work for me.

Well AF hadn't arrived by this morning so I did the HPT. It was positive!! I'm in shock. We had a 4 day cut off. Thanks for your replies because if I hadn't read those I would probably be even more shocked this morning. I didn't think DP sperm lived that long. Last time we tried a cut off for 8 months without success - I ended up getting pregnant by DTD on O day.
