DH has been out of town for 2 weeks and I finally did my "save my sanity" trick of getting out some new toys so the kids would be occupied and I could get a break.  Ha!  I should have known better.  I bought 6 new things for the girls.  What do they do? Fight like crazy over one toy at a time.  Pushing, hitting over the head, screaming, knock down brawling.  So instead of getting a break, the new toy actually makes it worse because I have to sit right there in between them and try to referee.  Finally I gave up and put the new toys away.  Angry

Sounds like my life.  My twins fight over EVERYTHING.  Buying two of everything doesn't always help either, because each wants the one the other has - even if the toys are exactly the same!  Drives me nuts!

It's definitely not just a twin thing! My boys have been fighting all week about BOOSTER SEATS!! No joke. They are the exact same seats and one of them always want the other one's seat. They are always fighting over toys and even clothes. We buy two of everything (always the exact same- color and all) and they still argue. It would be unbearable if they didn't love each other so much. Their fighting is no match for their friendship! Heart

Ditto!  My boys are 3 and 5 and argue over everything.

I don't mind the arguing.  It's the physical beatings taking place that freak me out.  They could do some serious damage to eachother.  At least with older kids you can reason with them (a little) or threaten stuff.  At 18 months they don't get it at all.

We did have a moment of inspiration though the other night.  Vivi noticed that Georgia had a paci and instead of ripping it out of her mouth, she went to the drawer and got herself one.  Wow!

Just wanted to say I hear ya, at about 18 months the fighting peaked. One of my twin boys had huge bite marks on his back, that was the spot chris went after when he was mad at dominic. Now they are 3 I think it's better, they understand more, and I don't have to intervine at every single argument or fight. Hang in there

I totally agree!  I think the fighting is better now than it was then.  They have the tiniest bit of restraint now.  Even waiting for sister to drop the toy instead of grabbing it away sometimes.
