Are you getting the Swine Flu Vaccine?

Im still unsure on weather I should have it or not.  I keep changing my mind.

Glad someone has brought this up. I really don't know what to do. DS is in at risk group and am totally confused by all the scary stuff on net. My dc's surgery aren't that for it i can just tell but they advise to have it under government recommendations. I really don't know what to do .Stuffed if you do, stuffed if you don't...

I got mine two weeks ago and feel just fine . 2 yr old DD did too.

I received the thimerosol free vaccine in Oct...got my boys vaxed as well!

 I had mine about 4 weeks ago and no reactions at all! I was happy I was able to get the preservative free shot, otherwise I may not have gotten it. I still haven't gotten my seasonal flu shot. It seems like it's harder to find than the swine flu vaccine around here.

I already got mine 2 weeks back.....My doc recommended it....

Are there any real disadvantages in getting it? I'm undecided at the moment. It seems sensible to go for it though.

Firstly I want to say that I am in Australia, so it may all be different here, but after talking to my doc she said that she does not recommend it. Basically she said if I react badly, then babe will react badly, and it is simple the variable of the unknown. All my pg friends have also been told by their OB's that they dont recommend it also.

I am not sure what to do, but I do not think I will be getting it.

Im questioning it becuase apparently it's the same as the seasonal flu vaccine, except from 1 extra ingredient...........which as never been tested on pregnant women or children.

If this has never been tested on this group how do they know it will not effect your unborn child, I can't help but think what if it harms my baby in some way.  Even although it is reccommended for us to have.

They are now saying in the UK children from 6 months - 5 yrs have to have it too, so ds2 is in the catagory.

I have exactly the same dilema.  Im going to ask my consultant at my next appointment on Thurs.  I trust him 1000%, so if he tells me to have it I am going to.  Will let you know what he says.  My DS falls into that catagory too

Don't do that.. the sooner you take the better. Its not even easily available.

i have also heard taking it during pregnancy builds unborn babies immunity for upto 6 months after birth.

Myself and both boys got it a month ago, no reactions and I feel much safer knowing we are protected.
