Guessing girl from the 12 week pic
6/3/00 3/21/02 2/6/04 6/1/06 5/5/09 born unassisted at home, in water Hoping to get pregnant with #6 this year...boy or girl, doesn't matter. I just want another baby! "If left alone in labor, the body of a woman produces most easily the baby that is not interfered with...If left alone, just courage and patience are required" -Grantly Dick-Read, MD "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs" -Thomas Jefferson

the 20 week photo is the profile of the baby...at this stage you need a toilet shot, one that is taken up under and between the legs....

I know the 20wk pic is the profile of the baby and that to really determine gender you need a toilet shot, but my question was WHAT are the white bits that you can clearly see?

Sorry to ask a question about something other than gender. But, what is the black narrow shape that points diagonally backwards coming from near front of babies tummy - is it the umbilical cord?

I don't see any cord here, only internal organs

I see what you're looking at now, I thought ggpink meant the other black space in babe's tummy

Thanks for the reply littlebirdie - it helps me make more sense of the image I saw during my 20 week ultrasound. Will the umbilical vein be seen when looking at the chambers of the heart, in an up and underneath view? I could see all 4 chambers of the heart beating and a shape like that also the same tone/colouration as the heart but thats the only 2 shapes that could be seen. I kept thinking "wheres the other organs, the cord etc." Sorry to jump in on this post Bumpalicious, but its all I can think about since the scan. I keep looking out for other ultrasound scans that show a similar image to what I saw, but this is the first I have seen.
