I'm sure this was posted already but.....how many probes would you or did you do?

I heard from one of the doctors I consulted with that the more probes you do, the higher the chance of getting false positives.  So, he recommended only doing a 3 or 5 probe b/c he said he didn't want to end up disgarding a healthy embryo.

What would you do or recommend?  Any research I can look up myself?

given the choice, i would've done 3 or 5, but neither was an option for me.  i had to choose between 2 or 24, and initially chose 24 because i wanted peace of mind.  after reading more about it, i realized that i hadn't known enough about it to make an informed choice.  i think the technology was too new, and i was afraid of the false positives...  i was worried that in the end, we may not have any embryos left to put back!  i ended up switching to 2.

I think it depends on age, family history, etc.  I ended up doing a 2 probe.  I am really interested in seeing results from the 24 probe. 

 

I only did 2 probe b/c I was told since I was 28 there was no need to do more. I wish I would have done research prior instead of just listening to my dr. I think I would have done more. I'm happy you will be more informed!

Didn't someone (here) recently get a bfp w/ a 24 probe?

I did a 5 probe (not offered anymore at HRC)...

I did 24 probe and only one came back abnormal out of nine embryos... I wanted to test for everything.... figured if i was going through all this, with a 60 percent natural abnormal rate i didnt want to get a bfn!!!!

Did 9 probe the first time - all abnormal.  No transfer.

Did 3 probe the second time - all normal.  Transferred 2, pregnant with 1, froze 2.
