11 weeks -Should I go get an elective u/s for a nub shot? $30

So, I'm having twins. I'm dying for nub shot to obsess over. My 10wk shots don't really have the profile nub shot, but everyone guessed boy for one of my babies. http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/t/125483.aspx

I want to go down to the elective place on the corner today and just ask for a good profile shot and see if I get lucky. It's $30, ten minutes. No biggie.

I feel tremendous guilt for even thinking of doing this and keeping it from my DH. He would flip if he knew. We had a huge fight over the $300 4D u/s of DD.

Anyway, I'm willing to take the chance that I get an iffy shot, but there is also a chance I could get a good shot of a nub flying around in there at a good angle right?

 Please tell me I'm not crazy. I really want to do it, but if it's a total waste of time, not worth the guilt and the secret. but if there's a chance it could give a clue, then I want to do it.

ummmm, I would! If I could get an u/s for $30, done locally, I'd probably go weekly! lol (the closest place I can find is just over an hour away)

 It might be best if you could wait a bit, but if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't have even posted, I'd be sitting in the waiting room at that office! lol

ha ha, you are too funny. I just feel guilty, but i really want to see the babies again. and i want a good nub shot darn it!!!

The nub theory confuses me to the end and back !!  lol

So, persoanlly, I would wait until I was farther along and get some good toilet shots!!

I would do it at 12 weeks

Oh OK, the votes are 50/50 now. Maybe it's too early? It's just going to confuse me? Maybe I need to find the self control to just wait? Maybe the guilt is a warning that I'm being stupid?

I would wait to around 12-13 weeks if they are willing to give you a nub shot. i didn't even know you were pregnant! Congratulations!

now i'm leaning toward self control and waiting to see what shots I get at my 12 week appts. Then, if not happy with those, I can go get an elective one to confirm.....

self control is not my strong suit. But as a Mom I need to learn it so I can teach it to my kids. My DH is way way too good at self control. Drives me crazy.

I hate surprises. I hate not knowing, but I don't know if going impulsively this early is really going to help anything and will make me feel bad for keeping it from DH.

So, for now, no. May change my mind at any time though!!! LOL.

ha ha! Obviously we all are anxious to know that's why this forum is so busy with women with nubs wanting to know. Ha ha.

I ended up calling them and they said they won't even attempt it til 13 weeks. She knew I wanted gender even when I didn't say it. it was too funny.

So, I'll wait for next week. I have two scans with my OB and I'll ask for a nice profile shot. Hopefully they will be nice.

then after that, I might go get the elective one at 13 weeks for more certainty.

with twins, it would actually probably be $60, not $30 anyway and I dont like keeping secrets from DH. Not that I won't keep it secret at 13 weeks if I go. Ha ha!!!

Hopefully, my 12 week scans give us a hint!!

It's *possible* to get a good shot in the 11th week (especially if it's a boy), but it's really better to wait until 12-13 weeks. Much more reliable at that point.
