I am really trying to decide what would be the best way to go, to cycle locally and save money or go to HRC. Some of the local clinics have good specials (like up to 2 rounds of IVF for $6k including ICSI and frozen FET as well as 12months interest free fianancing) and success rates but I am worried about their experience with MS samples. Do you think this really matters? We live in the Northeast and I am looking right now at MS + micro ivf or reg ivf. Maybe GiVF would be a better choice but we still have to travel four hours so not really local and there prices are not the best I have seen for IVF. Money is definately an issue but i really want to give it my best shot at success and am considering the options. My insurance would pay for basic infertility so the pre testing and some of the meds but that is it. How did you all finally decide what clinic to go to??

If you are going to do Mini/micro IVF, I don't think it makes sense at all to go to HRC or GIVF.  They will charge you the same amount as a regular IVF cycle.  Go to a place that actually offers it for a discount.

 Agree

I originally went to a local clinic for IVF not for GS and was not happy with them.  I then called SIRM and had a fantastic consultation with them, felt the most comfortable with them and Dr. Sher is a great doctor, so that is how I chose my clinic.  I think the most important thing is that the clinic has good success rates for the procedures you are looking at doing and if you are comfortable with them.  For me price does matter but in the IVF sometimes it is true that you do get what you pay for, so I can sometimes look past that.

DH said "no" to travel, which meant "no" to MS (we are in the Northeast too).

So I diligently researched local clinics and went with one that:

  • had an excellent reputation
  • I knew people who had used with success (both GS and non-GS patients)
  • was close to home (10 minutes away)
  • had my philosophy on GS

It was not the least expensive place, but met the above criteria. That sealed it for me.

Where are clinics that offer up to 2 rounds of IVF for $6k?! That seems pretty low compared to others!

CNY Fertility in Syracuse, NY. It is a fall special. Has anyone heard of them or had experiences with them? They are a microsort collaborator.
