Similac Sensitive RS formula

Who has used it for their babies with acid reflux? Did it help?? How long after you were using it did you start to notice a difference in your baby?

do you think the baby has acid reflux? I haven't used the similac one but with my DD I tried most formulas including the enfamil ar, and nothing helped until I went to the alimentum. she was diagnosed with reflux and put on zantac at 6 weeks old. Is your baby on meds?

We went to the doctor for acid reflux yesterday. Adalyn has all the symptoms. So the doctor told us to switch to Similac Rs and come back in two weeks....

I just read your blog, she DOES look like Hayden!!! :) So adorbale...both of them! How is the cloth diapering going? Someone on facebook was telling me she started using wool covers at night and her baby sleeps amazing now. I can get links if you want. I don't know about the formula question because I tried giving Ava a bottle of formula and she threw a FIT! So I am still breastfeeding and pumping....giving her a bottle a day since I go back to work in 4 days (boo hoo[:'(])

I don't know anyone who's used it, only the alimentum (sp?) with reflux. The milk protein in the alimentum is broken down so small it's almost predigested. Wonder why they didn't suggest that and zantac? Why keep her suffering? The zantac also takes a least a week to build up in the system before you will see a difference.
Don't be a afraid to question your doc...Did they say why this formula over the other? In the meantime I'm sure they've already told you to keep her upright for at least 20 min after a feed and burp her well. I assume they didn't suggest cereal in her bottle to thicken it?

Her symptoms are: spits up, irritability when feeding, refusing food or only eating a small amount, sudden crying, arching back while feeding, frequent hiccups, frequent coughing, and poor sleep habits with frequent waking

I did not like the pedi I saw yesterday, I felt really rushed and on top of that my 3 year old was throwing a fit!
She's on medicaid so maybe that's why she didn't suggest the other formula and the zantac? I'm not sure if it covers that. She didn't mention adding in cereal either. She just said to try the sensitive rs and to come back in two weeks.

I haven't put her in the cloth diapers yet. I don't think they'll fit her for another month or two so I plan to try them when she's about 12 weeks old and see how they work out.

Poor thing...I've been in your shoes and I know when the baby is out of sorts it's so hard, plus you want an immediate fix, especially if they're uncomfortable. Oh, and I hear you about your older guy having a fit! Well the other formula can be bought without an RX. If you do decide to try it I wouldn't give it 2 weeks. I'd only give it a week. 2 weeks is too long for her to be uncomfortable and see someone else in the practice.

Hannah was on Enfamil AR which is basically the same thing as the sensitive rs. It took about three days before I noticed a difference in her. It really did help with her spit up. The downside was that it made her constipated & gave her real bad gas. She had horrible acid reflux for about a month and it just kind of went away. She was on zantac but It didn’t help her very much so I stopped giving it too her. When she did have the reflux it was a nightmare, it was very hard. I ended up having to put her on the Enfamil nutramigen and she has been doing so much better.
