Has anybody got no embryos fertilized after ER ??

Hi

I am so disppointed : got everything planned for IVF/PGD in NY; had egg collection on Thursday and..today was told that none of the eggs could be fertilized because unmatured -

The Physician is very surprised and suspects early ovarian ageing on my side but cannot tell exactly why this happened as all my blood tests are very good - everything ok on my hubbie's side. He wants me to take DHEA before trying again.Not sure I want to try again if we cannot even have eggs fertilised ...

Has anybody been through all of this ?

what were your follicle sizes when he ordered ya to take the HCG injection

Firstly I want to say how sorry I am for you about your results.  I know exactly how you feel because I went through the same thing[:'(].  I have had two rounds of ivf/pgd and the first time round I retreived 13 eggs and none of them fertilised because apparently they had a hard shell around them and the sperm couldn't get in.  The second round they tried ICSI and 7 of them fertilised but unfortunately after PGD only 1 made it to transfer and it was a boy....

Do you mind me asking how old you are?  And did they try ICSI?

I am 37 and had never had any fertility issue (got pregnant 5 X)... They said the 5 eggs they retrieved (out of 18 follicules..) were not mature enough and could not be fertilized..

Good Luck ; will try again but probably somewhere in Europe
