I know there are some programs out there for embryo adoption or donation, but is there ever any that let you specify gender?  Where I live the RE's do not do PGD.   The only programs I see do not let you.  Should I post this in the high tech section too?

I posted in the M/S PGD section and no reply, it was already on the second page.  I posted on it again to ask anyone,  I am thinking probably not.

I kept googling embryo adoption/donation and gender or gender selection and couldnt come up with anything.  Snowflakes specifically says you cant do it and the other sites dont address it.

But as I was googling there was another site pointing out some things about embryo adoption, like, it's done by people who are already having fertility problems - yes I know but - the mother is probably older (so it's not like a young egg donor) plus these are the eggs they passed over to implant what the dr's saw as more viable embryos.  So add pgd on top of all THAT.

I wish I had enough money to get an egg donor, a sperm donor if necessary, a surrogate if necessary, the PGD they dont even do in my area - I only need to win the lottery -- or find a  pink and purple unicorn to fly to Virginia to have all this stuff done Stick out tongue  Worried    (never mind dh has said anything other than fost-adopt he is out the door)

Um...guess you are doing fost/adopt (LOL). I would think the MS clinics did this....Don't they have donated embroyos of a certain gender that they donate to couples? What would be the big deal to request boy or girl?

Hope you find your answer and I look forward to your fost/adopt journey!!

I agree that calling GIVF and SIRM and HRC is a good idea. AFAIK none of the "adoption" programs where you have a homestudy and everything allow gender selection. Sounds like you're leaning toward fost/adopt anyway, but I totally know that sometimes you need to look into all your options before deciding.
