As most of you lovely ladies know, we failed our first and last round of IVF trying to concieve a little girl. We have only one frozen little girl who was a little bit late to develop to the day 4 stage, but they recommended that we freeze her anyway 'just incase'.

Is it really worth going allll the way back to Bangkok and giving her a chance, or am I likely to get a BFN again?. Im not sure what grading she was or anything like that. All I know was that she was normal. Im struggling to get info out of Superior ART about her. I havent even heard from my doctor since I got my BFN and ive sent him several emails. I just want some answers Sad

Is there anyway you can get your little frostie shipped to you so you would not have the expense of travel?  In either case, I absolutely/positively would go for it.  Otherwise, you would always wonder what could have been.  Were you planning on completing another cycle anyway?

Hi Kiki,

Yes Ive sent several enquiries to my clinic regarding this and havent got a response. Seems weird when I got emails returned straight away previously and havent heard a thing since my bfn?.

We really cant afford another cycle and to be honest, I dont think I could go through all of that again. Its soo stressful on the whole family. I dont want to disrupt them again.

Hopefully ill hear back from my clinic regarding getting my girl transfered here. At least if she doesnt survive the thaw, then I wouldnt have wasted  whole trip. Sad

Its all so hard at the moment...I just want my little girl

Hi WMP, Maybe you could contact some clinics here at home about accepting embryos from o/s.....perhaps you could at least gauge if it is an accepted practice or if they would do it in your case. That way you have a starting point and some info for when Superior ART do get back to you. Maybe SIVF would do it because they are affiliated? They may have a clinic in Brissie or somewhere close to you. I would definately try and transfer her (that is what we are doing as you know :-) ). You will always wonder if you don't try.

At least an FET is much less work & meds. It is a hard call. I am pretty sure there has been success doing an FET with only one. Hopefully they will post here.  I put back 3 and ended up preggo with one. Who knows???

I pray you will find peace in whatever you decide. Best of luck!

If you aren't planning to cycle again, I'd definitely transfer that last embie.  You just never know.  I know of one gal that did a SET/FET w/ a grade C embryo.  She has a dd from it today.

Good Luck Clover

I would risk it, I did actually :). My ending was not a good one as my embryo did not survive being thawed. However I felt good knowing I had tried. I would for sure call clinics around you and see if the frostie can  be sent home so you don't have that expense of travel. It is worth a shot. as another previous poster stated there are some who have been successful with a FET with one

The lab technician said that my embryo was a 'fair' grade and that I would be looking at a 25-30% chance of pregnancy. Not sure if thats enough to convince me to give it a shot.

Well look at it this way--with your fresh IVF cycle you only had a 40% chance of pg, so 25-30% is almost as good :)

Im so sorry to hear your news and don't worry about answering my post to you.  Its so much to go through. I think if you can bare another trip back, this time maybe just go on your own for as little time as possible - maybe keep an eye on really cheap flights.  I'd give it a go. there's been so many success stories of FET's.  I have heard odd stories of people bringing their embreos back to australia but they say there is a chance of their being affected during transit. I would start by contact SIVF.

My thoughts are with you.
